Freshwater Bay, a delightful village with various cafes, hotel/ public bar, golf course and small local village shop. This renowned beautiful bay, shelters between sheer chalk cliffs with a small pebbled beach. Nestling behind the Bay is the pretty thatched church of St Agnes. There are also direct approaches onto the Heritage Coastline paths and downland walks. A short drive along the coastal road, leads to beautiful beaches at Compton and Brook ideal for surfing. The attractive yachting and ferry port of Yarmouth with its restaurants, pubs, shops and delicatessens to suit every taste, is a few minutes' drive. Almost surrounded by magnificent coastline, the West Wight is also home to salt marshes, picture postcard villages and an abundance of wildlife. The famous Needles, with chairlift, amusement park, boat rides, lighthouse and coloured sands of Alum Bay, are a short distance away.
The Bay is loved by walkers as Tennyson down is located just 50 yards away, and the sandy beach is popular with locals and surfers, waters sports being available in the summer.
Blackgang Chine, the oldest themed attraction in the UK, Ventnor Botanical Gardens, Pearl Centre, Dinosaur Museum, Donkey Sanctuary are all no more than a 30 minute drive away.
