Unlike Pernera and Protaras which are very quiet and closed during the off peak seasons, Kapparis is open all year. Restaurants offer local and international cuisine. You can sample Italian, Chinese, French and Mexican food and there is even a pub. Try the kleftiko and meze at Faliros and Karas which serve amazing local cuisine in ethnically decorated interiors. The supermarket, fruit shop, bakery and other shops are a mere 100m from the flat. Relax at nearby Fireman’s beach and catch a glimpse of Varosha, the ‘ghost town’ abandoned and uninhabited since the 1974 Turkish military invasion. You can enjoy many watersports at unspoilt Kapparis bay including parasailing, jet skiing, water skiing and wakeboarding, and hire a speed boat/kayak/pedalo or even charter your own luxury yacht! A small local zoo and viewpoint are worth visiting.
Paralimni, the largest town in the area and only a 5 min drive away, is pleasant with a wide assortment of shops, restaurants, bars and cafes. Three churches dominate the centre of the town and Panayia church houses an interesting ecclesiastical museum. Dine at one of the cafes around the town square which has an open air theatre, attractive gardens, a playground and fountains.
On the northern outskirts of Protaras, Pernera is a small coastal resort. It has a small but active harbour from where boat trips can be taken.
10 min to the south is Protaras, boasting a fabulous selection of blue flag beaches including Fig Tree Bay. There are a huge number of leisure activities including snorkelling, paragliding, and scuba diving. Children will love the 'Yellow Submarine', the 'Glass Bottomed Boat' and the 'Amazing Magic Dancing Waters' - a fantastic spectacle of fountain power, sound and light with an erupting volcano. There was also a small water park called Protaras Water park, which our two boys absolutely loved and spent all day there quite happily.
The rocky coast of Cape Greko has a number of walking trails and its idyllic waters are a perfect retreat for snorkellers or swimmers who want to avoid the busy beaches. Known for it's exciting water sports, cliff diving and historic lighthouse, a trip to the pristine location is a must.
Agia Napa with its amazing night life is a 20 min drive. The biggest water park in Europe, Water World, is here. Visit the stunning sea caves, a real treat. There are day cruises and boat tours and a visit to the stunning sea caves is always a treat.
Take part in the Carnival, a two-week period of celebrations before Lent. Green Monday is celebrated with picnics, outdoor fun and music and dancing. Easter is celebrated with evening church services throughout the Holy Week, a procession of decorated sepulchers on Good Friday in all parishes and traditional games on Easter Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
Annual events in the region include the Ayia Napa Cultural Winter with free concerts, recitals and dance performances and Kataklysmos at seaside towns with swimming, canoe race, wrestling and singing competitions. Let your hair down at the Cyprus Salsa congress the largest dance event in Cyprus held every year in Agia Napa.
Venture into occupied Famagusta and see the ghost town. Explore the ancient ruins of the once thriving port of Salamis where the famous battle fo Salamis took place and where Saint Barnanbas remains are said to be buried in the monastery named after him. A trip there for 4 in a private minibus with a guide will cost you E200 although there are tours and even buses which will drop you there to explore by yourself.
Cyprus: Cyprus is blessed with fantastic weather and has on average 340 days of sunshine a year!

An annual international ski competition takes place in March. Take a tour of the wineries and indulge in some wine-tasting. You could even use the island as a base for a short cruise to other nearby countries.

Very quick responding on questions both before and during our week on place.
Walking distance to a beach with fun watersport.
We had a rental car and found great places to swim/snorkel and cliff jumping within 15 minutes drive or less. Did a sling shoot in Ayia Napa ( watch on you tube ) which we can recommend.
In the apartment there was some very good tips on things to do and places to visit ,very good information.
A big fine pool to end the a day by the beach.
Thanks for letting us stay.
From the minute we first made contact with Sunita to the welcome home email this holiday rental experience was first class.
The apartment is well appointed and has all of the little (and big) things you might need to make your stay as good as you would expect.
The ground floor apartment is on a secure, gated complex of similar properties - some of which are by the look occupied all year round - there is off road car parking right next to the front door with a swimming pool about a minutes walk away. Close enough to be convenient far enough away to be noise free.
The nearby centre of Kapparis with its fantastic eating places is just a pleasant 5 minute stroll away.
Would we recommend staying here - with no hesitation.
Would we return - absolutely.
A big thumbs up. Thank you Sunita :)
This is the third time we have visited this apartment. It remains as clean, comfortable and a home away from home as ever. Everything we needed was there and more. Sunita remains as helpful and accommodating as ever. We had some lovely walks all the way to Protaras and Agia Napa. The coastal path has been made much better with proper path and steps in quite few sections. There were a lot more buses with regular service which is a great as we could use these conveniently to get around and did not need to hire a car. We discovered anew tavern in Paralimni near the stadium and food there was outstanding. AC did not work properly in guest bedroom but this was sorted immediately. Definitely come back again next year!
Having been to Paphos a number of times we decided to try a different part of Cyprus. Blue Sky apartment really is home from home, the kitchen is well stocked with utensils etc, toys are available for the kids to use, dvd's, beach parasols, the list goes on! The apartment is maintained and cleaned to a high standard. Information and maps are provided in the apartment which covers just about everything you need know for your stay. The pool is gated and is just along from the apartment, this too is well maintained and generally not very busy. We were there in August and had no problem getting sunbeds or parasols regardless of what time of day we went. There are some fabulous beaches within walking distance of the apartment, along with supermarkets, bars and restaurants. I would recommend this apartment and this beautiful part of Cyprus. We have already booked again for next year.
This was our second visit to this wonderful apartment and it was, if anything, even better than our first, something we would not have thought possible.
The bonus this time was that the weather, which was changeable at the time of our previous visit last October, was fantastic throughout - sometimes hitting mid 30's C. Also, going at the start of the season, we often had the entire pool area to ourselves.
The apartment remains totally complete with everything anyone could wish for and more. We ate at several restaurants, mainly in Kapparis but some in Protaras, and the food was generally of excellent quality and value.
We definitely hope to return soon, and would not consider staying anywhere else in this area.
Our second stay in the Mythical Sands complex (we enjoyed Kapparis so much last year that we came back). The service we received prior to booking till the end was outstanding. Sunita could not have been more helpful to us. She quickly answered our emails about any queries we had, and bent over backwards to help us. The booking itself was as smooth as anything.
The photos do not do the apartment justice. When we arrived the apartment was spotless and surpassed all our expectations with up to date equipment. The air conditioning is fab and simple to use. We loved the convenient location (easy walk to beaches, restaurants & shops- there are a few really good places to eat), It was not too busy around the clean well maintained pool with plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas and conveniently located showers and toilets. Apartment had everything you need, clean sheets, towels, washing machine and the owner's attention to detail is highly commendable. It is bright and fresh and brand new, it has been decorated tastefully to a high standard. We found there was plenty of room and having the balcony was great for that extra bit of private outside space. It has all the mod cons flat screen TV, satellite, DVD player, toys, books, games which is ideal when you have children. We didn't bring any DVD's with us as we didn't think we would need to but it turned out we did want some and it was very handy to have a range of DVDs to watch and books to read.
When we finally went to bed it was nice to go into the air conditioned rooms and pass out. The beds were comfy as we slept like logs.
We have stayed in a number of places and can honestly say that this is right at the very top of my list. Great value!
Thank you for making it so. We would recommend this to anyone, families with children, people who want a quiet break etc. I've just booked my return with a friend, looking forward to it.
This was our fourth trip to the Kapparis area and our first at this apartment. It is modern, well-equipped, spacious and very close to all amenities but far enough away that it is never noisy. The owners have thought of (and supplied) everything to make your stay memorable, from the very comfy bed to books, DVDs, games for kids etc.
There is a shared swimming pool (access via keycard) with numerous sun loungers and parasols. All restaurants, pubs, supermarkets/shops and a lovely beach are only a few minutes walk away, and the locals are all so friendly.
Many thanks to Sunita for letting us stay, and thanks also to Jacky for taking us into Protatras on the way home. We hope to be back again next year and would recommend the apartment to anyone looking to stay in this area.
