Chester girl who loves wine, comfort, culture and travel, husband, children and dog... not necessarily in that order. Foodie. Love our city bolthole No.5 and escape when we can. Feel free to ask me any questions and for recommendations to help make your stay memorable.
Samantha purchased this House in 2017
Why Samantha chose Chester
After looking at many properties in the city centre this is the one we fell in love with, it had a great feel and we knew immediately this was the one for us. The location is perfect, right opposite the park and the river. It was important to have our own front door and little sunny garden (British weather permitting) and No.5 ticked all the boxes. After a total renovation (great fun!) we feel that we've given this little gem of a cottage a new lease of life.

Beatiful, Well Equipped, Great Location
This is a nicely furnished home with a well equipped kitchen.
Sam left us wonderful goodies to begin our stay and garden roses. She is very helpful.
The house is near both the rail station and The Rows.
We didn't use the parking.
Comfortable Luxury in a Great Location
We spent three marvelous nights at No. 5. The cottage is beautifully decorated and manages to feel luxurious without being stuffy. Location is excellent, just a few minutes' stroll from the city walls and main shopping area and also in walking distance to a beautiful park. Samantha was a gracious host who met us at the house and provided a quick but very useful orientation to the area. Great communication throughout our stay - feels like I have a friend in Chester now :-). The welcome basket of goodies and breakfast fare was both generous and delicious. One of our best vacation rental experiences ever!!
No.5 is a superb get-away I,m afraid there are no negatives about this property, location, cleanliness, car-parking it felt like home from home which is all down to Samantha and her hubby Their hospitality is second to none and such a lovely couple. No.5 is certainly a little gem We would definitely hope to stay again Thank you Sam for a truly lovely week-end break
Chester Townhouse Stay
Fabulous! Samatha is the best host we’ve come across—thoughtful, friendly and organized. The property is exactly as described and visualized by the many photos. It was clean, well decorated and well stocked with everything we needed to feel at home. Parking was a non issue. We unloaded in front of the house. The garage parking provided with the property was a short 5 minute walk away and was never a problem. The property is very well located to for shopping, dining, groceries and the city center attractions. The Grosvenor Park, the River Dee and Roman Walls are easily accessible from the house. The Chester Zoo, Beeston Castle and North Wales are short car rides away. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely rent from Samatha again.
Our family (2 adults and 2 teenagers) loved our visit to Chester, and No. 5 was the perfect place to stay! Sam is an excellent host. The house is beautiful and has everything you could need. I especially liked all the books about Chester -Curious Chester was my favorite. Everything was within walking distance of from the house. The Chester Cathedral Falconry is great fun for animal lovers.
We are very lucky to have numerous fantastic restaurants and bars in Chester, and champion the many independent special places in our city. A guest book with details of our favourite restaurants, bars and places to visit is provided, and if you find somewhere new please be sure to tell us about it! If you are looking for a specific recommendation we would be happy to help.
Chester itself is an incredibly ancient place founded in the year 79AD by the Romans. It is one of the most architecturally rich cities in Britain full of architectural treasures such as the Roman city walls, and the unique Chester ‘rows’ a medieval castle, partially exposed amphitheatre, many Roman relics and a beautiful riverside, complete with bandstand, cafes, bars and boat tours. Its no surprise that Chester was recently voted as one of the prettiest cities in Europe!
