The Finn House
Great, cozy cabin with wonderful views of lakeshore and Lake Superior. Appreciated having firewood available for the fireplace.
Bliss on Superior
We were looking for a spot on the North Shore to hang out with our daughter and two grandchildren as the summer wound down and school started up again. We found it!! This old (built in 1943) rustic log cabin is set right on the shoreline of this secluded cove which provided both privacy and awesome beauty. The cabin was surprisingly roomy and certainly well equipped for our 4 night 5 day stay. Easy access and close to Grand Marais and Cascade River State Park, although hanging out on “our” rocky shore was an adventure in itself, including a family of loons!
Beautiful old place
Neat old cabin. Fabulous location.
by the big lake
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I loved the big windows overlooking Lake Superior, the close proximity to the lake, the screened in deck (awesome!!), the soaps provided, a dishwasher, washer and dryer, easy access and the wonderful book shelf. I took pictures of all the books I want to access through our library. LOTS of amenities.
The cleanliness disappointed me immensely, especially since I had already stated that our oldest granddaughter was allergic to dust. My husband, and our boys had already gone camping many, many times during their childhood, so we were o.k.
A good cleaning is definitely needed, as it is a gorgeous house.
Absolutely beautiful property! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Lake Superior perfection
Our extended family of 7 stayed at Finn house this week, and we hope to return again. This is a beautiful rustic cabin with everything you need for a terrific stay. The views are amazing, the cabin is very secluded and private. You may hear a little road noise but mostly the lapping of the waves on the rocks and the calls of birds. Beautiful wildflowers all around. Close enough to state parks, great hiking, biking; most any type of outdoor recreation you are interested in is available close by. The beds are comfortable with handmade quilts to snuggle under. Interesting artwork collected through the years and a super size library! Plenty of room for all of us. If you want a rustic Lake Superior experience, this is it! No regrets, hope to return.
