We love houses and homes and Le Chemin du Jardin Haut is very much an extension of our home. We get there as much as possible juggling work and feel just as much at home in Villemagne as we do in Northants.
The house has the double benefit of being secluded but only 5min walk to the village and 10min drive to the local shops / super market, it's a pure get away, plenty of out door space for relaxing and our wood fired pizza oven provides a natural out door cooking focus
The house is situated in the Haut Languedoc National Park in an elevated location amid secluded woodland above the medieval village of Villemagne l'Argentiere and river Mare. There are stunning views from the house over local vineyards & surrounding hills. The outdoor area has upper and lower south facing terraces offering outdoor dining and sun bathing opportunities. There is a small golf club and thermal spa at nearby Lamalou les Bains. Other activities include horse-riding, mountain biking, hiking, hill walking, canoeing, fishing and river swimming. For city visits, Montpellier, Carcasonne and Nimes are a great day out and the nearby smaller towns of Pezanas, Beziers, Olargues and Marseillen are great for local markets, historic buildings and good food. There are a great selection of local vineyards nearby or just relax on the terrace with a glass of fine wine and enjoy the view or take a 5 min walk to the Michelin star restuarant at Abbaye de Villemagne in the village.
