Why Anna Crawford chose Castelnuovo Berardenga
Camparone is set within the private and exclusive Villa D'Arceno Estate in an outstanding location with spectacular views from its elevated position. The Villa is stand alone and surrounded by an extensive, maintained garden offering total privacy and a real opportunity to commune with nature, while enjoying the extra services and a Five Star Concierge provided by 'Arceno Rentals Club'. THE ESTATE OF VILLA ARCENO The estate of Arceno is 1000 hectares of forest, vineyards, olive groves, cypress avenues, dotted with traditional farmhouses 'the Casali', of which, some are enigmatic ruins awaiting restoration. The 'Villa' of the estate dates from the 16th century with its own chapel, romantic park and lake. Its original owners would have managed the estate directing the workers who once lived in the Casali. Casanova once a working Casale is now with modern benefits for those who wish to relax and enjoy the stunning views of the Chianti.

We took the whole family for a vacation highlighted by the Palio. The house and annex were the perfect size for us (11 people.) Everyone had a great time and many fond memories were made. The concierge was particularly helpful with anything that arose or that we disired to do.
Villa Camperone is absolute paradise! Our family of 7 spent a week at the Villa and wished it were 2. From booking to checkout everything was outstanding. The level of communication was wonderful. When we arrived there was a welcome basket and a refrigerator full of local foods and wines.
The location is central in Tuscany, easy drive from Florence and other great day trips around the Tuscan region. Gaia our concierge was Amazing and was at hand at every moment if we had questions or needs. All her recommendations from, restaurants, private cooking class, wine tour and directions were the best on our vacation. You will not want to over schedule yourself because it is absolute heaven relaxing around the pool enjoying the serene and peaceful countryside of Italy.
We can’t wait to return!
Idyllic, exceeded expectations better than reviews
Still raving about our stay at Camparone, unique settings, total relaxing place, perfect villa, great hosts, fantastic welcome basket and dinner cooked at the villa. Could not ask for more, highly recommended.
A gem in the heart of a unique estate
We stayed at Camparone for the second time after few years from our first holiday at the Villa. New touches and renewed furniture was a pleasant surprise. Great concierge, we discovered so many new places in the surroundings thanks to Gaia’s tips. Thank you!
Fantastic Villa and a unique Tuscan experience
We were a group of friends and travelled in Tuscany as we do each year. We have discovered Arceno some year ago and took full advantage of the properties managed by Arceno Rentals. Outstanding luxury villas perfectly appointed, organised and serviced. Camparone is one of them and eight of us stayed there. All is perfect, from the decor and finishes of the house, the exclusivity of the place to the concierge services provided by Gaia, the Concierge manager. All is perfect, a dream holiday that we renew each year. The area offers all that a spoiled tourist may ask for, if you wish a reason culinary treat go for the Michelin starred restaurants of the area (Bottega del 30) and local Anonimax in the nearby village Castelnuovo. Cannot stop thinking I am coming back next year!
A magical spot!
This was an absolutely magical villa. It is a beautiful villa in a stunning setting. The bedrooms were spacious and beautiful. There was lots of space throughout the villa for lounging, reading a book on a couch or playing cards as a family. The kitchen had everything you needed for making great meals. The back porch was a magnificent spot to enjoy a glass of wine and watch the sun set across the valley. The pool was a perfect spot to rejuvenate after a day of tours in the Tuscan countryside. Our three families and children enjoyed every minute of our stay.
The villa was in a perfect location. It is easy to get to Sienna, south to Montepulciano & Montalcino or north into Chianti. The small intimate town of Gusme is minutes away by car; or a lovely walk through country lanes; where there is a wonderful restaurant run by a Sicilian family now living in Tuscany.
The owner was gracious and welcoming. The team that supports the villa are warm and welcoming. They are there every morning to help, but are not intrusive. They joined us on one night and prepared a wonderful and delicious home cooked meal.
Quite simply: We will go back again!!
Famous for food and wine there are many places to go, to discover the flavours of Chianti. You may eat and drink the gorgeous local produce or go one further and take cooking lessons or learn about wine making at source. Activities available include golf, tennis or horse riding. The local thermal spas can provide relaxation and the thrill of bathing in 'naturally' hot water. The seaside is also in reach for a change of scene and a 'day out'. Packed full of history and art, an almost endless list of galleries, exhibitions, museums, churches, palaces and secrets only the locals can tell you about await to be discovered.
San Gusmè is the nearest village within walking distance (about two Km) from Camparone. It has a couple of bars and restaurants for lunch, dinner or just a coffee and views towards Siena Siena and the ‘Torre del Mangia’.
A favourite restaurant is ‘La Bottega del Trenta’ in Villa a Sesta which has a Michelin Star for a fantastic fine food experience and a warm welcome by Hélène the owner.
One of the main events in Siena is the famous ‘Palio’ horse race held annually on 2nd July and the 16th August. If visiting Siena around these dates Arceno Rentals Club can arrange the purchase of tickets, for an ‘unparalleled experience'!
A car is necessary to travel around and all areas of the estate are reached by ‘strade bianche’, unpaved roads. Although most are public these roads are quiet, allowing walking, cycling and jogging in peace.
The region is stuffed with history, art, food and wine and with Italy’s excellent road network, Florence, San Giminiano, le Crete, Pienza, Montalcino, Cortona, Arezzo, Perugia, Assisi, Gubbio and Todi are within easy reach for day trips.
