The apartment was well located. The stairs within the apartment were dangerous.
The location was great, but overall the apartment needed some updating and love. Not sure what could be done to improve the charming but treacherous stairs, since you need to use them to get to each bathroom and bedroom.
Great location, but poor communication, little attention to what might be helpful for guests
Great location one block from Piccadilly Street. Can walk to everything, so this was a major plus. Pleasantly quirky interior, and the owner has a terrific book collection. Beds were very comfortable. The location made up for everything, but if you are going to rent this, know what you are getting yourself into. We thought it was overpriced for the quality of the property.
The main difficulty was that communication with whomever was managing the property was problematic. We received no information about how and when to enter the property, even though we indicated when our flights were arriving (early in the morning). We were left standing in the rain in front of the door, trying to call the property manager, who didn't acknowledge that he had never given us information about timing and obtaining the keys. We stowed our luggage in a local bistro. No information was provided in any coordinated fashion about such things as internet, how to use the oven etc--just a taped message to watch out for slippery floors. We had to roll back all the rugs to prevent slipping on them - this could have been averted by investing in a few rug pads. Some lamps were missing bulbs, or could not be connected to power because of the lack of extension cords. No corkscrew. Although these are simple things to address, it required contacting the property manager, who again, was not terribly helpful. Some furniture was broken (side table shown in the picture), and one of the chairs looked like it had been eaten throughout with moths, or rodents. Forget about having a bath -- no plug for the tub--also very difficult to get hot water in the tub, because of some non-functional fixtures. Kitchen very sparsely outfitted regarding utensils, no way to make coffee; and forget being able to use napkins or paper towels while eating (neither present). Also, the 'single' bedroom has no closet or dresser or anyplace to unpack. You will have to share a closet.
