Fancy being Lord of the Manor for a week or two? How about this fabulous country mansion? Mor Edrin is truly one of a kind, and in a stunning location with wonderful estuary views. Not far from Porthmadog and Portmeirion, of “The Prisoner” fame, Mor Edrin is ideally located to explore Snowdonia, the Llyn Peninsula and the north western reaches of Cardigan Bay, down past Harlech and the lesser explored hills that rise ruggedly behind it. You will enjoy the entire top floor of this large, historic country house, with grand rooms both charming and comfortable in this lovely retreat. Set in its own generous grounds, Mor Edrin is the kind of place you could spend your entire holiday relaxing in and never leaving the front door! Yet that would be a shame, as you would miss out on many wonderful attractions on your doorstep.
Porthmadog, for instance, is the location of three heritage railways, including the famous Ffestiniog Railway and its newer, bigger brother, the Welsh Highland Railway. As so often in Wales there are castle to explore here, too, including Harlech and Criccieth, both set on wonderful coastal locations. There are fantastic beaches all around here, including Black Rock Sands and Shell Island. Inland, you’re close to some of the least visited mountains in Snowdonia. If you’re looking for a unique adventure, check out the zip lines, mountain bike tracks and underground trampolines at Blaenau Ffestiniog.
