Overview

About the property

Luxury 3 bedroom fisherman's cottage in Shaldon

Located in the picturesque seaside village of Shaldon, Seascape Cottage is a delightful period Fisherman's Cottage which over the years has been sympathetically modernised, keeping many original features. Sleeping 6-7 people this perfectly proportioned cottage is dog friendly and ideal for families and groups of adults alike.

Over three floors all rooms have been stylishly furnished to a high standard. The ground floor has original hard flooring throughout and a lounge with comfortable furnishings, fireplace and all the mod cons. The modern shaker style kitchen works perfectly with the period features and is equipped with all the must haves. The dining room with vaulted glazed roof gives access to the quaint enclosed courtyard with bistro table and chairs.

The first floor holds two bedrooms; a super-king that can be easily adapted to a twin bedroom and a further triple bunk bedroom (small double with single on top). The modern family bathroom has a bath & overhead shower. From the first floor you can access the road at the rear of the property, Top Cliff, through a small terrace.

On the top floor is a king-sized bedroom that enjoys lots of natural light and views of the Teign estuary.

The owners have provided everything you may need from luxury toiletries to dog bowls, bed rails & stair gates.

Seascape is short level walk to the many amenities of Shaldon where you can find a butcher, baker, village store, gift shops as well as pubs and restaurants aplenty.

Otherwise known as the drinking village with a fishing problem, Shaldon, is an idyllic fishing village with its thatched period cottages and windy narrow streets. Enjoy the ruby red beaches including going to Ness Cove through a smugglers tunnel, Shaldon Wildlife Zoo and many other local activities on your doorstep.

Why Sara Snazell chose Shaldon

We fell in love with Seascape the minute we walked into the property. It has such a lovely feel about it and has been so carefully extended and modernised over the years - old meets new perfectly balanced.

Shaldon is a fantastic spot for a holiday and the family love their time adventuring to the 'Secret beach' via a smugglers cove or catching the passenger ferry to Teignmouth. And after a long day on the beach there's a great selection of bars & restaurants - most are more than welcoming of Harley our dog.

Lovely cottage, great location.

Very well equipped and furnished; perfect for our family of 4 plus young dog. Close to Shaldon village, beaches, local pubs and a park with children’s play area.

Clean, well furnished and equipped

  • 5 of 5

We had a very enjoyable stay at Seascape, the property is well located in Shaldon and very well furnished and equipped, making clever use of a small plot and never feeling cramped even though there were five adults, a toddler and a dog!

In particular the bedrooms are excellent, two large doubles and one smaller double with a bunk above.

There was a small issue with one of the toilets when we arrived but it was very quickly fixed, and communication from the owner and the letting agents was truly exemplary and could not have been better.

If it's any indication of how good our stay was, we have booked for next year before leaving to ensure we could stay on the dates we want to go before anyone else could!

Comfortable, quirky and well equipped cottage.

  • 4 of 5

The cottage is only a few minutes walk from the centre of Shaldon and only five minutes to a beach. We thought Shaldon delightful and enjoyed the friendliness of the pubs. Our small grandchildren were well provided for in the cottage with helpful equipment eg highchair but also a cupboard full of books and toys. These were much appreciated!
