Schönes Landhaus in idyllischer, ruhiger Lage
Thanks a lot dear Frank! You were very kind, absolutely perfect guests for us too!
"Agriturismo Casa Greppo" is a beautiful hilltop farmhouse of 450 m high and is located near San Venanzo, the most traditional and least known Umbria, between Todi, Orvieto and Perugia.
Situated in an active estate of 20 hectares, the farm "Podere Greppo", between olive groves, arable land and woods, is placed in a dominant position with a beautiful view. In the foreground Rotecastello, medieval jewel with its watchtower, surrounded by hills, valleys, multicolored fields and many other small medieval villages absolutely outside the traditional tourist circuits.
For example Civitella dei Conti (2.5 km), a small hamlet on top of a hill that preserves the remains of a fortification, other small and charming villages such as Collelungo (4.5 km), Poggio Aquilone (5 km) offering also the possibility of an excursion along the Fersinone torrent, Montecastello di Vibio (10 km), a small jewel, not at all a permanent summer home of international art stages and theater venue of the Concordia Theater, the smallest active public theater in the world!
Nearby you can visit Todi and also the River Fluvial Park of the Tiber. Other naturalistic reserves are that of Lake Trasimeno and still on the Colfiorito Plan. You can find more information at the Pro Loco offices at San Venanzo or at the site "Monte Peglia and Selva di Meana". Worth a visit to the local Venetian Museum and Vulcanological Park.
If you want to look further, you can reach and visit Tuscany in the course of a day; for example, Arezzo is 100km; or Rome, also reachable by train from Orvieto; this makes Greppo an ideal starting point to visit the most fascinating centers of central Italy.
For the joy of your children, you can easily visit the City of Domenica, a beautiful park equipped for children, which also houses a famous reptile. This page shows the conveniences for your children available at home.
The life of the surroundings, seen from the top of the very panoramic position on valleys and small villages, seems to flow with quiet rhythms, meditation but, if you decide to go, to move to those places, you soon realize that in reality there ' there is a great deal of vitality; throughout the year there are many different activities related to culture, traditions and tourism: international gatherings such as the Spoleto Festival, the International Festival of Todi, the Festival of Nations in Città di Castello, Umbria jazz, folk festivals animated by concerts, fairs and dance music where above all the varieties of Umbra cuisine are enhanced, tasting wild boar or game dishes, truffles, salami and grilled dishes of every species, and then performances of Umbrian tradition with historic recollections and costume parties, market exhibitions that periodically fill the historical center of almost all the cities of the area such as Perugia, Arezzo, Todi, Spoleto.
