Conval View is a clean, modern, comfortable house enjoying elevated, panoramic views over farmland and forests towards the Conval Hills and Ben Rinnes, (the highest mountain in Moray (840mts/2500ft) with truly amazing views from its summit).

Conval View is situated a short drive from the scenic village of Aberlour (2mls) and Dufftown (4mls), the capital of Scotch whisky country.

On our doorstep, the surrounding countryside activities include hillwalking, salmon fishing, mountain biking and canoeing.

Our property is perfectly positioned for an overnight stay but why not stay a few days - cut down on that driving time! - to enable you to visit some of the many distilleries in the area (over 50 close by!), the world-famous Moray Coastal area (Voted TOP 10 in the world!) with its beautiful beaches & forests plus a visit to world-renowned cashmere manufacturer, Johnston's of Elgin then return to relax in your home-from-home in glorious Speyside.


Extremely spacious Suite comprising Super King Size bed with a luxury mattress topper, duvet and pillows. Large built-in wardrobe, chest of drawers, dressing table, 2 comfy armchairs, glass coffee table, 2 side chairs, table with coffee/tea making amenities, hair dryer, TV, and luggage rack.

En-suite with bath/shower/wash basin/ WC, heated towel rail and shaving point. Shampoo & shower gel provided.

High-quality bedlinen, towels, and bathrobes, are provided.

Central heating and free WIFI available throughout the property.

Fabulous views of Conval Hills & Ben Rinnes from all rooms.

Two comfortable extra beds can easily be placed in this room for a family or a group wishing to share.

A small refrigerator is situated on the spacious landing for your water/wine/beer etc. This is also where we put fresh milk for your tea/coffee.

For use by both Suites (We have another, The Family Suite, under separate listing.)


There is a well equipped Utility Room on the Ground Floor with washing machine, tumble dryer, sink, ceiling clothes airer, iron & ironing board.

A small charge is requested for the use of these facilities.


The Breakfast Room is on the Ground Floor and a delicious Full Highland Breakfast is cooked using local produce & served to order.

Or choose from our comprehensive Continental selection.

Breakfast is served between 7 am & 9 am; if an earlier breakfast is required please ask and we will be happy to meet your schedule.

A Breakfast menu is placed in all bedrooms so you may order in advance the evening before if you wish.


There is plenty of FREE parking space for up to 6 cars. All we ask is that you do not obstruct the red roller garage doors!

Feel free to wander around our large garden to enjoy the superb views & fresh mountain air. Weather permitting!

NO smoking anywhere inside the property, please. Smoking is allowed outside the house just not near any windows/doors!

We regret that we are unable to accommodate pets

We have a very quiet, lovable black Cocker Spaniel called 'Charlie' He is not allowed upstairs in the guest accommodation or in the breakfast room. If you're missing your own pet, Charlie is very friendly and enjoys a bit of fuss!

Arriving back a bit late after an excellent meal and whisky tasting?

No problem at all. Just keep the noise down out of respect for our neighbours, please.

One last request: kindly check all lights in porch/hall/landing etc are turned off before you sleep. Many thanks indeed for your co-operation.

Conval View is our home. We live on the ground floor and will be there if you need us for anything but please respect our private living and kitchen areas.

Our two spacious Suites and Private Lounge upstairs provide very comfortable accommodation offering our guests their own privacy and freedom to come and go as you wish.

From Elgin: drive South on the A941 through Rothes. Continue past Craigellachie (where the road number changes to A95) towards Aberlour. Drive through the village on A95 and up the hill for about 1.5 miles. Turn LEFT at the Veterinary Centre. Continue on rural road around a couple of bends. Do NOT take the first sign 'Leading to Benrinnes Drive' but continue until you see a semi-circle of recycling bins on left . Turn LEFT here and immediately turn RIGHT into Benrinnes Drive.

Conval View is the SECOND house on the RIGHT with a tall green hedge and white B&B on post box with double metal-5 bar gates & red roller garage doors at side of house.

From Grantown on Spey: Take A95 towards Aberlour. After about 17.5 miles, look out for sign on left to Carron (DO NOT TURN LEFT)

Immediately after this sign, go over brow of the hill, turn RIGHT at Aberlour Veterinary Centre and follow directions as above.

(If you find yourself in Aberlour, you've missed the turn right at the Vet's! Turn around and follow the first set of directions!)

If BOTH suites are booked together your family/party/group will be able to enjoy SOLE USE OF THE ENTIRE FIRST FLOOR comprising of:-

1 Super King Size, en-suite, with the possibility of placing 2 Extra beds in the room if required (Sleeping 4) (Ben Rinnes Suite)

1 King Size bedroom (Sleeps 2) (Family Suite)

1 Single bedroom (Sleeps 1) (Family Suite)

Private, modern Shower Room (Family Suite)

Private Lounge, that can be used by the whole party, comprising of

3-seater sofa, 2 comfy armchairs, 2 side chairs, coffee table, side tables & TV. (This lounge is included in The Family Suite)

Jamie is a former airline captain. Carol is a former Olympian. Both of us, therefore have been out and about! We've both been independent driving instructors. Jamie likes hill-walking and Formula One motor racing (watching it!). Carol's interests are fashion, colour, design and Pilates. We both like Theatre and movies (some!).

There are so many attractions in and around our beautiful area of Moray/Speyside it would be difficult to describe them all in detail!

One of the main attractions is the WHISKY DISTILLERY TOURS. We are situated in the heart of whisky country. There are over 50 distilleries nearby!

SALMON FISHING in the world famous Spey River. HILLWALKING/HIKING in the local area and in the Cairngorm National Park a short drive away from us.

BEN RINNES, the highest mountain in Moray (841m/2500ft), is on our doorstep offering an exciting and strenuous climb, on good paths, to the summit. The views at the top are stunning with the Moray Coast and Sutherland visible to the North and the Cairngorm National Park towards the South (on a good day!)

Visit the beautiful world famous MORAY COASTAL AREA (Voted in the top 10 in the world) just 20miles North of us.

Drive/cycle the amazing SNOW ROAD from the traditional Highland town of Grantown on Spey to the picturesque market town of Blairgowrie. The route traverses the HIGHEST PUBLIC ROAD in Britain (highest point Cairnwell Pass 2199ft/670mts above sea level by the Glenshee Ski Centre) taking you through some of the most outstanding landscapes on the eastern side of the Cairngorms National Park. THE SPEYSIDE WAY is one of four official Long Distance Routes in Scotland and runs from Buckie on the shore of the Moray Firth coast of NE Scotland, south-westwards to Aviemore on the edge of the Cairngorm Mountains, following the river Spey, a distance of approximately 65 miles. There is also a 15-mile spur to Tomintoul.

The village of ABERLOUR is situated on the route and we would be happy to drop and collect walkers departing and arriving at Aberlour. For more information visit
