4 bedroom modern house with glass balcony looking out to sea

4 Bedroom house. Built on hill side overlooking harbour to Skye. On the ground floor there are 2 bedrooms( one double and one twin) as well as a bathroom and utility room with washing machine and dryer. On the first floor there is living room with sliding doors onto a glass walled balcony with views out to sea and spectacular sunsets. There is a kitchen / dining room again with views out to sea. There is also a double bedroom and shower room on this floor. On the top floor is a twin room with en suite shower room. There is a further play area here with small pool table . We find that we spend our time on the balcony if we want to be outside enjoying the beautiful views out to Skye. There is parking for 3 cars.. we have repainted and updated the kitchen and living room this winter. The bathrooms were re -done very recently too so it is a lovely house to stay in. The main asset is the magnificent views from the main living rooms and balcony.

Great house and views

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Gairloch. The house was great and spacious. And very kiddie friendly with the playroom and living areas. Fantastic view from the balcony or just to sit comfortably and enjoy from indoors. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you need to cook and eat! A very enjoyable stay indeed. Would recommend to holiday makers and families.

Great place to stay to explore a beautiful region

We loved this house, which was very well appointed, very homely and in a superb location. Could have spent the whole holiday looking out the window at that view! Great area for outdoor adventure, or just a relaxing holiday. Ideal house for a group of friends or a large family. Highly recommended.

Plenty of room; great view; good location.

There's plenty of room here for a party to enjoy. Gairloch is a long way from anywhere but worth the trip. The house has all the amenities including good wifi but the TV stations are a bit limited, presumably because of the signal in such a remote are. The house is a bit tired looking but the important things are in place like nice bathrooms and good linen. Definitely recommended.

Owner's Response: Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it. The house does get well used and has the usual wear and tear. We have since done quite a lot of re- painting and improved the kitchen as well.

Unbeatable Location

Property was as described, in an unbeatable location. This, together with the glorious weather, made it one of the best holdays we have ever had. I would not hesitate to recommend to friends and family. Gairloch is an ideal base with plenty to do nearby as well as a good selection of eating places, especialy if you like seafood. We were impressed by Myrtle Bank Hotel, the Spiral Restaurant and The Old Inn as well as the newly opened Barn Restaurant at the Sands Caravan Park (open to non-residents). Spoilt for choice for walks of all grades. Beaches are all stunning. My new favourite is Mellon Udrigle. A visit to Inverewe Gardens is great at anytime but especially in May when we enjoyed the riotous displays of rhododendrons and azaleas. The rare blue meconopsis were also in bloom. Weekdays at 1.30pm there are volunteer-led guided walks around the gardens which are very informative and free! The great weather was a bonus but I would imagine the facilities at Glenbrae, especially the views from the lounge, would mean an enjoyable stay even in poorer weather. Just sitting watching the comings and goings at the harbour and the stunning sunsets made for a memorable holiday. Many thanks for a great stay.

Must be one of the best holiday houses in Gairloch

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this house. It's well laid out, with a stunning view from the very large door-windows in first floor living room. It was a pleasure to go upstairs every morning and see the view. The house is very well decorated and looked after, and also very well equipped. (You can tell that the owner cooks there - the kitchen has everything you need.) Lovely balcony on first floor too - we ate outside most nights. Very nice 'feel' to the house, and it's fresh too. Within walking distance to The Old Inn bar and restaurant. Easy access to Gairloch golf club. Lovely beaches. The weather was extremely (and uncharacteristically) kind to us - with 5 days of temperatures of 26 Centigrade - and we even managed to go into the sea, albeit briefly and with wetsuits as the water is very cold. Lots of good walks nearby. Also went to Poolewe for Inverewe Gardens, and the lovely Bridge Cottage Cafe. Excellent lunches at Badachro Inn, and also one at Aultbea Hotel. All in all had a great week in Gairloch, thanks to both the house and the weather. Would highly recommend the house to anyone.

Lovely stay with an amazing view

We spent one week in this guesthouse and really enjoyed our stay. Vanessa's customer Service was perfect and everything was well coordinated. The property was clean and has everything you need. The Highlight was the pool and kicker table. We can highly recommend the house.

The area is a walkers' paradise with easy access to mountain and hill walking. It is near the famous Loch Marie but also within walking distance of a fabulous sandy beach for small children to enjoy. There is a 100 year old golf course within a mile( 9 holes) which has fantastic views across the sea to Skye. The house is situated on a steep hillside looking over a small harbour and out to Skye. Sunsets are spectacular! We are within a 40 minute drive of the Torridon mountains which provide some of the best hill walking in the country. The local harbour offers boats trips out into the bay and even to the Shiant islands. You might see porpoise, dolphins, whales and seals , as well as sea birds. We are within walking distance of a small convenience store as well as a pub with restaurant. There is pony trekking up the valley, fishing in the hill lochs and on the sea. Gairloch, which is a 2 minute drive away, has butchers, grocers, bookshop and further places to eat or have coffee.
