Cute and perfect!
Churchyard cottage is just as charming or better than it appears in the listing. Well equipped kitchen, toiletries, comfortable bed and linens, everything was top notch! Super clean! Loved the quaint atmosphere of the location next to the church and quiet small town! Would return in a heartbeat! Thanks Debra for your quick responses and providing such a sweet place for us to stay on our trip to the area! :)

Perfect couples retreat
A gorgeous property, just right for a couple. Lovely location, beautifully furnished, comfortable, quiet but not isolated, well looked after. Will go back.
Great location and accommodation
Great location and accommodation. Would book again and highly recommend to anyone.
We had a very nice stay at the cottage. Very welcoming and spotless. Lovely walks just from the cottage door for our dog Blue. Good pub at the bottom of the lane.
We would most certainly recommend the cottage for two people plus a dog.
So a lovely place.
This was our second visit to Churchyard Cottage and it really is the perfect bolthole. The location is ideal for walkers, cyclists and dogs. We took two labradors and were all very comfy here. The weather was a bit chilly but there were plenty of makings for a fire. Very cosy, peaceful and special. Not points to.mark it down but take initial provisions and a plug for the sink! Thank you Deborah. See you again if you'll have us!
Hi Lucy, I am glad that you enjoyed your 2nd stay with us at Churchyard Cottage. I am really sorry about the plug, it is being replaced now - I am not sure what happened to it. Hopefully welcome you back again soon. Take Care, Debra
The Rose and Crown Pub (which is renowned for a fantastic sunday lunch) is just a stone’s throw from Churchyard Cottage. In addition to this there are a couple of lovely pubs that can be reached by taking a picturesque walk along the famous Ridgeway. Such as;
The Royal Oak in Bishopstone which uses their own organic ingredients from their privately-owned farm. It is also renowned as one of Oxfordshire’s No1 pubs.
The White Horse in Woolstone which also serves fantastic food.
The Ridgeway is located immediately behind the Cottage by walking past the Church and up the small path. If you take a left on the Ridgeway you can walk to Wayland’s Smithy (2 miles away) and The Uffington White Horse Hill (3 miles away). If you turn right you can walk to Bishopstone (4 miles away).
Ashbury Village shop stocks basic food supplies but doesn’t sell any alcohol or tobacco.
Supermarkets: A Co-op is located on the Watchfield Business Park and another Co-op in Shrivenham (both around 5 mins drive away).
Sainsbury’s Supermarket in Swindon just off the A420/A419 junction (15 mins drive away).
Aldi, Waitrose and Tesco’s in Faringdon just off the A420 towards Oxford. (15 mins drive away).
Shrivenham is the closest village to Ashbury (4 miles away) which has two pubs that serve good food (The Royal Oak and The Crown), a couple of fantastic Indian Restaurants (The Gulshan Brasserie and Rafu’s) and a Chinese takeaway.
There is also a lovely delicatessen/cafe called Bloomfield’s that sells award-winning and locally sourced produce. All the above establishments are located on Shrivenham High Street.
