Hello john, thank you very much for your kind words... I am glad that you enjoyed your stay, Debra.
Fantastic five star cottage
Second visit to this beautiful cottage.
Cottage is spotlessly clean with everything you can think of provided throughout.
From the decor through to the cutlery everything is five star.
Cannot recommend this cottage enough.
We absolutely loved Churchyard Cottage. So beautiful and tucked away up a quiet street with perfect access to the fields and the Ridgeway behind for walks. We had our dog with us so this was ideal.
The cottage is perfect for settling in on the sofa in front of the log burner too. Beautifully done inside and plenty of space too!
The village pub is a 2 minute walk down the hill and served a lovely meal for us on one evening.
I would defiantly recommend Churchyard Cottage to anybody looking for a weekend away and we will 100% be coming back again!!
Hi Robert I am so glad that you all had such a lovely stay with us at Churchyard Cottage. Thank you for your kind words and I look forward to welcoming you back anytime. Many thanks, Debra
We had a really lovely time here, the cottage is just stunning and Debra had decorated it so it looked gorgeous & chrismassy. The roll top bath is to die for!
We took our dog Bruce along with us and enjoyed the walks surrounding the cottage. We also visited the Rose & Crown who were just so friendly as were the locals! Food here is really good.
We would really recommend staying here for a nice & quiet get away, it really is perfect. Debra is also great, she kept in touch with us & was easy to communicate with. We would love to go back!
Hi Kate, I am glad that you enjoyed your Christmas break with us at Churchyard Cottage, thank you very much for your lovely review and I will look forward to welcoming you back anytime!! Many thanks, Debra
Cosy property in idyllic location
This small and cosy cottage is in the perfect location to do long dog walks to white horse hill. We enjoyed the food and atmosphere in the rose and crown pub which is 2 seconds. Also The Royal Oak in Bishopstone which serves organic meat. The cottage is quirky and has everything you need for a weekend away. Only slight negatives were the church bells which ring on the hour throughout the night and the wet room shower which wasn't very powerful. But having said that the roll top bath is amazing! Would recommend this property to couples and dog walkers.
Wonderful property, very comfortable with everything we could want. Great log burner for chilly evenings & comfy seating. Lovely walks and a fabulous pub down the lane. We did not have to leave early on Sunday so booked for Sunday roast and can see why the reviews are so good. Just what was needed for a relaxing break.
Thank you Debra for sharing your Cottage with us.
thank you Kevin for your kind words, i am glad that you enjoyed your stay, many thanks, Debra
The Rose and Crown Pub (which is renowned for a fantastic sunday lunch) is just a stone’s throw from Churchyard Cottage. In addition to this there are a couple of lovely pubs that can be reached by taking a picturesque walk along the famous Ridgeway. Such as; The Royal Oak in Bishopstone which uses their own organic ingredients from their privately-owned farm. It is also renowned as one of Oxfordshire’s No1 pubs. The White Horse in Woolstone which also serves fantastic food. The Ridgeway is located immediately behind the Cottage by walking past the Church and up the small path. If you take a left on the Ridgeway you can walk to Wayland’s Smithy (2 miles away) and The Uffington White Horse Hill (3 miles away). If you turn right you can walk to Bishopstone (4 miles away). Ashbury Village shop stocks basic food supplies but doesn’t sell any alcohol or tobacco. Supermarkets: A Co-op is located on the Watchfield Business Park and another Co-op in Shrivenham (both around 5 mins drive away). Sainsbury’s Supermarket in Swindon just off the A420/A419 junction (15 mins drive away). Aldi, Waitrose and Tesco’s in Faringdon just off the A420 towards Oxford. (15 mins drive away). Shrivenham is the closest village to Ashbury (4 miles away) which has two pubs that serve good food (The Royal Oak and The Crown), a couple of fantastic Indian Restaurants (The Gulshan Brasserie and Rafu’s) and a Chinese takeaway. There is also a lovely delicatessen/cafe called Bloomfield’s that sells award-winning and locally sourced produce. All the above establishments are located on Shrivenham High Street.
