A beautiful 5 bedroom English country cottage - ideally suited for getting together with family, friends and colleagues .
Its setting is perfect and wonderfully private – sitting in a large fenced garden with rolling lawns and views towards the Malvern Hills and surrounded by 5 acres of fields where you’ll find horses grazing. It lies outside the quintessentially English village of Hanley Swan with its village green, lily-covered duck pond and a very welcoming pub with an open fire. During the restoration of this 16th century house, great care was taken to preserve its original elements whilst incorporating all mod cons.
Massive 30ft kitchen with range cooker, granite worktops, breakfast area, table to seat 10+ with french windows onto the terrace, gas BBQ, outdoor dining and croquet lawn.
Large oak beamed living room with comfy sofas and fireplaces at each end and a TV/games/reading area with a Smart TV- iPlayer, Netflix.
Downstairs cloakroom and a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer
Upstairs two bathrooms - with baths, walk in showers and heated towel racks and five comfortable bedrooms: two double bedrooms with kingsize beds, one single bedroom with a double bed and two bedrooms with adult sized bunk beds.
As you would expect duvets with cotton bed linen and towels are provided; electricity and oil central heating is included as is an initial very large basket of logs to feed the fires. There are a number of TV/DVD/CD players, a Klipsch iPod sound dock and WiFi. In the well equipped kitchen there is a range cooker as well as a microwave, dishwasher and a fridge/freezer
An extra fold-up bed (for +1 child); a travel cot and high chair are available.
How fortunate we all were to be able to Christmas here.
A complete success - thank you.
We loved the cosy fires.
Tickeridge Farm met all our expectations and then some! The previous reviews did not do it justice! We hired the farm for a weekend surprise birthday celebration for my husband, and everyone had such a fantastic time. The house was extremely clean and outdoor area well maintained. The little touches like wine in the fridge were much appreciated. Dugald was incredibly helpful and flexible with our big party, and really made our weekend special. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Tickeridge Farm nor to stay again! Thank you so much.
It did as it said on the tin. The welcome from Dugald was lovely and the house was modern and old at the same time. We loved it
We had a fantastic time Tickeridge farm the property is so relaxing and the views are beautiful. We stayed in the property for the three days and treated it like our home cooked meals and enjoyed every minute.we definitely will be coming back our family thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you for welcoming us into your stunning property.
We utterly adored our time at Tickeridge Farm! The place was so warm, relaxing and great for the kids. The house was wonderfully appointed and had everything we could possibly need. The owners were incredibly gracious and responsive when we had questions.
The property was clean with wonderfully comfortable beds and great bathrooms. The grounds were well cared for and the views were breathtaking. You can tell this house has been updated with an eye to preserving the historical aspects.
There are horses in the pasture next door, cows in the field across the street and chickens next door. The kids adored interacting with all the animals. We took the kids horseback riding at Guinness Park Farm near Worcester. It was very much geared towards children as they didn't really have horses that we as adults could ride. But the kids had a blast and they were very helpful and accommodating.
We took coach trips to Hampton Court Castle (not the Tudor one, but a 14th century castle about an hour away by coach) and the Avoncroft Historic Building Museum. The museum trip was fun and interesting, but the Hampton Court Castle was amazing. They have a maze which leads to a tower in the center with a secret passage out behind a waterfall. Magical.
Our favorite meals while in the area were The Swan (ate there twice), The Wellington Inn and Anupam. We also tried out the Blue Bird Tearoom, Mac & Jacks and the Nag's Head in Great Malvern and really enjoyed them as well. Really all the food we tried in the area was stellar. Puts to shame the preconceived notion that British food isn't good. :)
We held a family reunion here and had a fantastic weekend. The house and it's situation suited us perfecly.
Everything was comfortable and well thought out, I only wish we could have stayed for longer.
We met up for our son's 30th birthday with 7 adults and a one year old toddler. The house and accommodation are amazing and the layout worked really well for a large family group.
Would recommend this property to everyone for its standard and location to the Malvern Hills
