Marina di Leuca: Marina di Leuca (called also S. Maria di Leuca or simply Leuca) is a small town located in Apulia, exactly in the southernmost point of the heel of Italy, where Adriatic and Ionian sea join.
The still largely virgin territory, the real nature and the friendliness of the people, represent the strengths of one of the most charming places of Italy.
Many places to visit: Punta Ristola, Punta Meliso, the beautiful eighteenth-century villas, the numerous caves, Basilica 'De Finibus Terrae', the lighthouse, 'Cristo Re' Church, the Apulian Aqueduct monumental staircase, tower of 'Omomorto'... and much more again!
Adriatic Coast: Adriatic coast is high and rocky from Leuca to Otranto; it's low and often sandy in the northern part of Otranto.
From the coast road, visitors can enjoy a breath-taking view of the Adriatic sea, seeing, if the sky is clear, even Albanian mountains.
Main towns are: Tricase Porto, Castro, Santa Cesarea Terme, Torre dell'Orso and obviously Otranto, with its beautiful castle.
Ionian Coast: Ionian coast is always low, both rocky and sandy.
Driving the road coast, you can find many nice villages: San Gregorio, Torre Vado, Torre S. Giovanni, etc.
However, the most important city is Gallipoli, often overcrowded in summer, with its sandy beaches and its many bar/discos.
