Good house for group/family visit to London
Some houses disappoint when comparing the pictures and online description to reality. This one does not. We went with a large family group and enjoyed the comfort and amenities the house provides.
This place could use a good cleaning.
To start, the place was exactly what we needed. We were two adults, and three older teenagers. We had more beds than we actually needed, and having a washer/dryer on premises was wonderful.
The kitchen though.. wow. That was a level of nastiness that I can't fully express in words. I opened the cabinets, and found coffee mugs with food particles stuck on the inside. I continued to open doors and found a large wok/skillet that had enough food remaining in it that I could have eaten a meal. EWWW. The bottom drawers of the fridge had food pieces still in them from prior users. There were cobwebs on the sky lights, and let me tell you about the shower experience. The shower is a great size, and good pressure. When I got in the first night, I noticed pretty fast that it wasn't draining properly. It was so slow, that I turned off the water a couple of times and stood there freezing with soap all over me waiting for it to drain enough to turn the water back on. I told my husband about it, and he grabbed a utensil to pull out the enormous glob of hair and who knows what out of the shower drain. It was about the amount of two handfuls of hair. All worked perfectly after he pulled that obstruction of the drain. I contacted the POC for the property and let them know about the issues, and she responded thank you and she'd let the owners know. Wow. That's it. After we completed our stay, I sent her pictures of al that I mentioned above, and for whatever reason she couldn't receive them. We emailed them from different accounts, she gave us her What's App contact info, and said she couldn't get them that way either. I had requested our cleaning fee to be refunded as we had obviously not come in to a clean place to begin with. She basically left it with the thought that if she didn't have pictures, not much could be done. Not the best answer to give, but that's customer service I guess.
All this said, there are instructions near the washer- which were a must for this American girl. The pick up of the keys was an epic pain in the rear as the location you get the keys doesn't even do the kindness of assisting you with directions to the location. And, to top it all off, we had to buy toilet paper and paper towels to get us through the 5 days we stayed there. If the customer service from the agency were better and the house were actually clean, I'd have much better things to report, but sadly we left this house not happy with the experience of our stay.
We would have appreciated some instructions about using the washer/ drier, and also recommendations for local restaurants. Otherwise it was perfect for our family
Very well appointed house with a good access to London
A very comfortable stay in a very cosy and well appointed house. It was a great experience for our family reunion. Our party had 7 adults and one child and we had plenty of space including a nice and welcoming garden. We could cook and get everything we requested from the local coop supermarket. The bus / train access was convenient enough although we had our elderly parents with us. We highly recommend this beautiful house. Thank you Helen for having us. Claude
