Greenwood - a holiday home that sleeps 7 guests in 3 bedrooms
Greenwood is a beautifully presented, detached house, equidistant from the beaches at Swanpool and the centre of this vibrant town. The open plan kitchen dining area is bright and contemporary and opens out onto the large terrace. The bedrooms are all spacious and upstairs they both have their own private balconies, one is perfect for morning coffee and the other is for evening sun! But the most remarkable point about Greenwood is how private it feels with mature trees and shrubs the garden is not over looked at all and creates a wonderfully relaxed feel.
Falmouth has developed over the last few years into one of Cornwall's really fabulous destinations because of its amazing variety of things to do. It has a buzzing town centre filled with shops, restaurants and waterside attractions. Falmouth is a famous British sailing hotspot and hosts a popular Regatta Week every year in August. The sailing capital of Cornwall, it is renowned for being the third deepest natural port in the world. Visitors will find the town teeming with coastal treasures, ranging from fish restaurants and boat trips to The National Maritime Museum, next to Port Pendennis. Pendennis Castle, built in the 16th Century, sits high above the harbour with truly magical panoramic views across the bay. You can ride one of the Fal River Link Ferries to the beautiful St Mawes and visit Henry VIII's sister castle or take a delightful trip around the estuary stopping off at Trelissick Gardens for a cream tea.
Ground Floor: The main entrance hall has doors leading to; Bedroom suite with 4'6" double bed and separate 4' sofa bed, en suite shower room with WC and hand basin and external door. Under-stairs WC with hand basin. Double aspect living room with comfortable sofas, flat screen TV and wood burning stove. Open plan kitchen / dining area with fitted units and a large Rangemaster stove, the two sets of sliding doors open out onto the large patio. There is level access from the patio into the kitchen / dining room and also into the downstairs bedroom and en-suite.
First Floor: Landing with doors leading to; A large family bathroom with bath, separate shower, WC, bidet and hand basin. Double bedroom with 4'6" bed and storage, private balcony. Second double bedroom with 4'6" bed, storage, flat screen TV and also with a private balcony.
Exterior: The large, mature, garden surrounds the property and also boasts a substantial patio area outside the open plan kitchen / dining room. There are two parking spaces on either side of the property. There is a barbecue.
Facilities & Services
Heating is via gas central heating throughout. The kitchen has a range of equipment. There is a Rangemaster with electric ovens and a large gas hob, a microwave, toaster, kettle, American fridge / freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer. The sitting area has a flat screen digital TV & Bluray DVD player. There is unlimited WiFi available at the property. There is an iron & ironing board.
Electricity, heating, bed linen & towels are all included but you will need to provide your own beach towels. There are two parking spaces either side of the property. Please note this property is suitable for a maximum of 6 adults and 1 child/infant. Strictly no smoking at the property. Up to 2 dogs are allowed at the property at the small additional charge of £30 per dog per week. Dogs may not be left unattended in the property. There is a cot, highchair and stair gate available.

Perfect weekend retreat
We stayed at Greenwood for a long weekend. From start to end we had a wonderful experience.
The owners were really welcoming and the house was beautiful. Clean, tidy, light and airy.
The garden was wonderful, sat out one evening til dark in the lovely flora and fauna.
The bedrooms were spacious, clean and very comfortable.
The star attraction is the lovely kitchen/diner/conservatory.
Would recommend the house wholeheartedly.
Will definitely return.

The house totally lived up to our hopes. Our selection was based solely on the photos and description of the Property.... totally accurate. The property was in excellent condition and the owners were most helpful. We would recommend this property to all who want to have a comfortable home to ensure and maximise their holiday enjoyment
Lovely house and garden
We enjoyed our stay at Greenwood and would definitely book again, it was perfect for our needs with easy access into town either on foot or by car.
Half term family break
The property has an excellent layout and the size is good for six people .
The facilities at the property were good but the kitchen lacked a couple of basic utensils e.g. measuring big and working him opener.
The property was clean but I'm one area it was obvious that a car or other animal had regular access to the property due to the smell.
The owner was very helpful and welcoming and on the whole the property provided a good base for our holiday.
It is close to good walks and beaches with only a 10 minute stroll into town.

Thank you for reviewing your experience. I am glad that you had a great week with the family. Regarding your comments I am sorry that the tin opener did not perform, it is fairly new however has now been replaced along with an additional measuring jug. As regards the animal access I can only think that you are referring to the cat flap in the lounge area of the kitchen which is blocked off from outside. It has not been used since May. I will give this extra attention. I guess that your own dog picked up on a scent. As it is a dog friendly property we do clean excessively. We also ask in our notes that owners do not allow their dogs on the furniture, including the beds and carpeted areas. Owners are also requested to clean up their dogs mess in the garden. These requests are not always upheld which makes the task in hand more timely. Thank you once again for bringing these things to our attention, I hope it hasn't detracted from your stay. Lovely house with a beautiful garden
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Greenwood- the house was lovely and very well equipped. The garden was beautiful and very thoughtfully laid out with lots of places to sit as the sun moved around the garden. Unfortunately it was either raining or cloudy when we were there, so we couldn't take full advantage of it! We especially enjoyed sitting on the sofa in the kitchen overlooking the garden! The owners were very also helpful and gave us very good ideas about where to go in the area. All in all it was a lovely place to stay.
Beautiful house and location
The house is fab and spotless clean and all creature comforts. Inc towels etc
It's near town and the beaches and easily walkable. Falmouth is beautiful and a really good location to visit Cornwall from .
Family live on site at the bottom of the garden but where unobtrusive and very helpful . Any issues where tended to immediately.
Parking was my only gripe there is really only one parking space on a drive, ( we had 2 cars ) where you need to mount a kerb my wife's car couldn't get in . The same drive is used all the time by the family that own the house, who have about 4 vehicles and the second parking space was on a really small lane and didn't feel that safe and not really a parking space .
So I would say it had one parking space .
We loved the house and location and are looking to book again for next year .
Falmouth is one of Cornwall's most popular places to visit because of its unique mix of attractions, water sports, beaches, history and place to eat. The National Maritime Museum Cornwall and Pendennis Castle are both high on visitors lists of places to visit and the views from Pendennis on a fine day a truly magical. Falmouth is the sailing capital of Cornwall with its spectacular deep water natural harbour offering a haven for both cruisers and racers. Many events are held through the summer culminating in the famous Falmouth Regatta Week and associated shore side events. The beaches at Gyllyngvase & Swanpool are coarse sand and are wonderfully sunny south facing spots. You can ride the ferry to beautiful St Mawes for the day or take a delightful trip around the estuary stopping off at either Trelissick Gardens, Malpas or Truro. There are plenty of places to eat & drink in Falmouth and recently Rick Stein has opened his Fish & Chip Restaurant & Oyster Bar at Discovery Quay adding to the superb mix across the town. A short drive away is the Helford River. This delightful part of Cornwall includes places such as Mawnan Smith, Helford Passage, Constantine & Gweek. The area has many delights such as Trebah and Glendurgan Gardens, The Seal Sanctuary at Gweek, Goonhilly Earth and Satellite Station and The Ferry Boat Inn. Daphne du Maurier wrote her only romantic novel Frenchmans Creek about the River Helford, and who can blame her, the views really are beautiful. Glendurgan Gardens, run by the National Trust, hold a 176 year old laurel maze and the 'Giants Stride' swing is very popular with children. St Anthony-in-Meneage holds a lovely little church primarily of medieval architecture. Maenporth beach, tucked away on the westerly edge of Falmouth Bay and boasting spectacular views, is well worth a visit.
