Annette Morheng purchased this Villa in 2017
Why Annette Morheng chose Castino
The property's unique hilltop location among the hazelnut groves and vineyards with stunning views and sunsets attracted us right away. We fell in love with the villa's charming old elements, dating back to the 16th century, and appreciated the tasteful modernisation. We especially value the Piemontese landscape with breathtaking views over the Alps, excellent food and great wine. The property is embedded right in the heart of the famous Alta Langhe not far from the UNESCO world heritage landscape.
What makes this Villa unique
From the very large heated pool in the lush garden you can see over the valley and enjoy the stunning sunsets. The peaceful and tranquil location allows you to relax although you can reach by foot the lovely historic village in no more then 20 minutes. The perfect place to start discovering this magical territory, rich in flavours and tradition.

We just completed a week stay at Casa Annunziata in Castino. Despite unfavorable weather, we all enjoyed out stay. We were three couples so each couple had their own bathroom plus the use of the new bathroom with tub. The kitchen is well stocked which meant we were able to prepare meals although we did dine out frequently.
Be sure to check out the distances to the famous hill towns. Castino is on a ridge one mountain away from the vineyard towns so there is a lot of going up and down mountains which we didn’t mind except when we had to deal with fog.
We have already recommended the house to others.
Thank you very much for the wonderful review of your late autumn vacation in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage sight, the famous Langhe Hills. It’s that time of the year, the truffle season, when the foggy views over valleys in the morning or evenings make you appreciate even more the cozy fireplaces in the house. Alongside the ride on the hilly roads you can now watch the harvesting of the delicious Nebbiolo grape. La Nebbia - The fog. Try a glass of “red liquid fog“ in the evening while indulging in one of the many hill towns’ restaurants. We are looking forward to hosting you again and wish you warm and happy thoughts when remembering your stay in Piedmont.
Castino October 2019
The dinner with Anne and Joe on our first night there was amazing and remained a highlight of our trip! It greatly exceeded our expectations!
Perfect place to relax and explore Piedmont
We stayed at this beautifully restored villa for a week in September. The house is extremely comfortable and the grounds and pool are lovely. Our local hosts, Ann and Joseph cooked us a delicious 7 course meal complete with local wines. I highly recommend you take them up on their offer to prepare a meal, it was really a highlight of our stay.
Castino is a short 10-15 min walk away or a short drive. There is a decent small market and a really good pizza place in town. We took a few day trips (Barolo, Turin, Alba) but really enjoyed our time relaxing around the beautiful pool. I would highly recommend this property.
Had a wonderful stay! The property has the charms of an old Italian farmhouse while being updated and comfortable. Surrounded by beautiful hazelnut groves. The house itself is well equipped in every way, roomy and comfortable. There are multiple dining areas (both inside and out). We loved the pool and mountain view. The house was situated in the small village of Castino . About a 40 minute enjoyable drive to Barolo to enjoy some of our favorite wines.
Ann and Joseph (property’s caretakers) cooked for us which was one of the highlights of our visit. A gigantic THANK YOU to Ann & Joseph, his brother and mom whom joined us for dinner. Joseph’s cooking was amazing and the wines from his cellar only enhanced the experience.
We can't say enough about this property and would highly recommend this home as a place to visit.

We are very glad to read that you fully enjoyed your stay at Casa Annunziata and appreciated the wonderful atmosphere and delicious food from Ann and Joseph. Welcome back anytime!
A Fantastic Holiday
We can't say anything but positive feedback about this gorgeous home. We arrived late in the evening and our hosts had kindly left us some food and drinks that we had requested as we knew we would be arriving late.
We were absolutely blown away by the location of the house, surrounded by beautiful hazelnut groves. A lovely stroll through these takes you to the local village, where you will meet some of the most lovely people, kind and helpful in every way. The local restaurants are also really good.
The house itself is just everything you could as for. We'll equipped in every way, from games, books and dvds for all ages, to everything else you could imagine, pool inflatables, bikes, outdoor games.
Our lovely hosts Ann and Joseph cooked us the most amazing meal on our second night there, providing us with local wines that we just loved. Ann was always on hand to answer any questions we had and honestly we couldn't have asked for any more. I thoroughly reccommend this home to anyone, my daughter loved the pool and spent most days in there!
Thank you again and we hope to return soon!
great family holiday
This was an ideal place for a 3 generation family holiday. The property is exactly as described in the advertisement. Written material pre-stay was exemplary. We particularly appreciated the support and hospitality of the local manager Ann and her husband Joseph, who cooked a memorable meal for us, with expertly curated local wines. Many thanks for a great holiday.
