A little jewel
We had a delightful stay. So many cozy, sunlit spots to sit for breakfast or lunch. Splendid gardens by Lockwood deForest.
A gorgeous place to rest
When my family is on vacation, the best we wait for is an amazing place to go and a great house to stay. Montecito and Montecito Garden Home was a happy surprise. The property has a beautiful garden and a super mountain view, special spots to whole family enjoy, charmingly furnished and decorated, impeccably maintained and… a housekeeper and gardeners once a week! We had good time enjoying the house: cooking, reading good books (Rufus has a good collection of them!) or just resting under the trees in the garden with a glass of wine. We are planning to come back soon and stay more time at this lovely house. Just a walk from Montecito Village, near the grocery, restaurants, bank, shops, gas station. Rufus offered all support we needed, careful with details to make us feel welcome.
Paradise in Montecito
Our holiday in Montecito was extraordinary. This romantic Spanish style home sits on a beautifully landscaped two acre lot in the heart of Montecito, an upscale area in Santa Barbara, California. The site offers privacy and seclusion - yet it is minutes away from all major attractions. The home is exceptionally clean, with lovely furnishings. All your needs are met.
We spent many happy hours on the property itself, sitting under the trees with a glass of wine and a good book. The various seating areas were like vignettes begging for your attention - first the front patio, then the various areas at the rear with the wonderful views to the mountains.
Montecito is a small enclave which offers all the amenities that can be found in any first class city. Should you wish to have a fabulous meal - there are numerous restaurants within a ten minute radius.
Shopping in Santa Barbara was a delight. The main street is tree- lined with interesting shops and eateries. The El Presidio, located in the downtown core, is a stark reminder of Santa Barbara’s historic Spanish past.
The proprietor provided us with information about the area and welcomed us with a bottle of wine and beautiful orchids. A lovely beginning to a wonderful time.
We are looking forward to returning to this exceptional property in the very near future.
Romantic Montecito getaway
Uniquely beautiful home in gorgeous Montecito in a magical and romantic setting. Stunning garden from noted landscape designer ensures you are surrounded by nature - soaring trees, birdsong, views of the mountains. A short walk to the exclusive Montecito mall where you will find restaurants, delicious takeout meals at Pierre Lafond's - the home's location could not be more perfect for every kind of Montecito and Santa Barbara adventure. Interiors are charmingly furnished and decorated, impeccably maintained. Could not recommend this more highly.
Charming Home in a Spectacular Setting
This lovely home is a hidden gem in a totally tranquil setting. It is a retreat in time to a quieter and slower paced life style. The house is extremely charming and very accomodating. It is meticulously maintained. The grounds are inviting and a perfect place to unwind or in my case continue to work but from the front patio! The furnishings are comfortable and are evocative of the quintessential old Santa Barbara style. The house is at the end of a long drive and completely private. The multiple outdoor seating areas offer tranquility just a few minutes away from all the great places to shop, eat and relax in Montecito. Downtown Santa Barbara is a short drive. The owner was very gracious and his agent was most helpful in every aspect. I hope to return soon!
A romantic getaway with old world charm.
I would recommend to anyone. Rufus is a delight. Great location, walking distance to restaurants and shops. We particularly loved the living room that felt like an old hollywood movie. Three different patios - breakfast in the morning on the front patio, lunch off the master in the interior patio and dinner in the back with beautiful mountain views, lush garden and complete privacy. It was after two stays at this rental that we decided to move from Houston to Santa Barbara. Best decision we ever made!! My friends from Texas have also stayed here and have loved it as much as we did.
A short walk to beautiful Montecito Village with excellent restauants, shops, post office, hair salon, drug store, charming coffee shop. A path from the house.
