We had a wonderful stay. A unique and beautiful property.
Having read the previous reviews I thought that we had found a private gem... lots of the reviews mentioned the car garage... however I had not expected what awaited us on arrival....the sides of the roads were littered with abandoned rusty cars, lorries and even a bus . They had been there so long that the trees and grasses had grown in them, We arrived 1 hour early and I rang the owner to see if we could Gain entry into the property.....the owner was pleasant and said yes and to give the property a airing..... something which I think should of been done well before we arrived. In the description it said it overlooked the river... it did not.... from the ground level you looked at a hedge and from the bedroom window you looked onto a field with a rusty car in it...it also said it had fields to either side... again not true... the field as said above, a road on one side and the next door neighbours yard on the other.
The house looked nice but upon entry it smelled like a cat or dog had urinated somewhere, the knobs came of the kitchen doors the fridge had ripped linoleum around the base and the light worked in the fridge intermittent. The bathroom smelled like drains and the bin was broken. The worst was the bedroom window where my 8 year old was sleeping was open and we struggled to get it shut.... the downstairs toilet window was permanently open and unable to get it closed and anyone could get in... after two nights we came home as we didn’t feel safe... it was a very expensive holiday... there were more issues and I will not be going back there again...
Perfect central location.
The cottage suited us perfectly for our family break. Our kids loved the cottage, gardens, and had a great time with the children that lived there.
The owners knowledge of the area helped enormously to make our stay In Cornwall even better. They were generous and trusting.
Thanks so much for helping to make a our summer so special.
Lovely cottage in perfect location for exploring Cornwall.
We had a great week in the cottage and Jason couldn’t have been more helpful. It’s in a beautiful situation, if a little difficult to find initially, but that just adds to the peace and quiet. I can recommend it to anyone who prefers to be off the beaten track (although very accessible to everything) rather than in the main tourist spots.
The place was perfect, renovated beautifully and in a great location.
