cottage in a panoramic and qiuet position also near to the village
- english, french, spanish, italian, we speak english french spanish
We are a couple with gronw up children and two years ago we started the adventure of a bed & breakfast and we loved it. So having this cottage available we decided to rent it. We see that people like to have the possibility to have a private place where to cook whenever they like and here you can also eat in the nice table outside listening to the only noises from nature watchin the sea. We live in the place next to the cottage so for anything you may need we can help you: information, reservation, suggestions about places to visit or resturats. The property has about 2500 sqm. of garden and this cottage is in the best and more private position
valeria purchased this Cottage in 1988
What makes this Cottage unique
the very special thing of a holiday in our place is that here you can "detox "from the trafic, the noise, corowd, pollution having in front of you not a single building but only nature. For people who want to stay for longer period (4 weeks ) ask for special price.
100% refund if canceled at least 30 days before arrival date. 50% refund if canceled at least 14 days before arrival date.
What a great place to get away with views to die for! Charming place with great hosts, Valerie and Franco
Great view, great location, very quiet and remote
About 30 mins from La Spezia Centrale to take the train to Cinqueterre. Very nice and quiet oasis perched on top of Montemarcello.
Beautiful property, lovely view.
We had a lovely holiday in this high class apartment with a gorgeous balcony overlooking the sea.
A nice appartment in a lovely location
We stayed for a week in mid May 2018. The apartment was well situated for our planned visits to the Cinque Terre as well as the more local towns of Lerici, Sarzana, Carrara and La Spezia. The apartment has all the necessary requirements and has a lovely private location within the grounds of the owners villa. From the sun terrace you can look out across the broad expanse of the Gulf of Spezia. It is very quiet.
Valeria was most welcoming and helpful before and during our stay. The very narrow road to the property could be an issue for larger cars re access but Valeria will meet you in the free car park in Montemarcello and take you and your luggage to the apartment. We left our hire car in the car park which was quite safe, it is only 5 minutes walk away. Montemarcello is a typical hill top village and has a restaurant, a bar and 2 small shops serving coffee and ice cream etc. It is in a quiet location and well located for day trips to Portofino, Lucca or Pisa. It is about 1 hour from Pisa Airport. This is one of the nicest properties and locations we have stayed at in Italy and Valeria could not have been more pleasant and helpful.
Over looking the Sea with Nothing to Block the View
Used the patio every day. Moved chairs to stay in the shade of small trees. Public parking lot is about 50 meters south of road into the property which is about 200 meters long and very narrow. You can park on the property but we needed to rotate the mirrors on our car in to make it in and decided to use the public parking lot the rest of our stay. There are about 15 outdoor steps you need to go down to get to the door of the rental. Second bedroom is also the sitting room. Kitchen is well equipped. Made day trips to Pisa, Lerici, and Cararra marble quarry.
A Charming Cottage by the Sea
We stayed in this charming cottage by the Ligurian sea for a winter week in February. It is one of three separate cottages situated on staggered terraces with incredible panoramic views of the sea. The other two cottages are not let out. The area around the cottage is comprised of terracotta and stone garden terraces and steps, all overlooking the entrance to the bay of La Spezia. The owner, Valeria, also operates a three room B&B at the top of the large property. The house is very nicely furnished and well equipped. The good size kitchen has Carrara marble counter-tops, as does the top on the dinning room table and the entire bathroom. The cottage was very clean, open and airy. The arrival was smooth and easy. Valeria is very friendly and helpful, and is a wealth of information regarding the local area, restaurants and sights. She even baked a apple cake for us that was waiting in the kitchen when we arrive. It was great and it vanished in a couple of days. She also had basic breakfast items and coffee already stocked in the kitchen. Much appreciated. Even though we were there in the winter and for hiking, this cottage would be a paradise in the summer, as you could enjoy the large terrace and outside eating area. Also worth mentioning is the built-in grill located on one terrace. We used it often during our stay. The location is in a small village, but there are many things to do just a short distance away. And if you hike it is perfect because several key hiking trail converge at Montemarcello, and even very near the house. We hiked to Tellaro and Punta Bianca directly from the house. In Montemarcello are several espresso bars and restaurants. But the village is missing a grocery store so you must drive a short way down the hill for groceries. Also as the house is located out at the seaside edge of the village and there is only a very small road reaching it from the center of the village. Only for small cars, but we made it in and out in our Volvo V50. But it was a challenge. However, Valeria offered to shuttle the luggage if necessary in her car to and from the free parking area not far way. We will definitely return to this cottage and have already recommended it to our friends. We may even make it an annual stay we were so happy there.
Dear William and Sally,
Thank you so much for the nice words in your review, I am happy to see that you spent a pleasant time in my cottage in Montemarcello.
You are right , the area is full of interesting places to visit and trails to hike with a stunning view on the sea.
I am trying my best to offer a five star holiday to our guests and hope to see you again in the future!
Montemarcello is a typical ligurian village, with about 250 inhabitats, and it has a lot of trekking trails with a sea view to walk or to go by mountain bike.
The food in the area has either sea fish speciality or in the country side you can find a lot of gourmet products like mountain cheese, chestnut cakes, "lardo di Colonnata" or porcini mushrooms.
If you plan to visit also historical places like Pisa or Lucca or Florence it is easy to go and come back in one day so you are free to plan your holidays day by day depending on what you feel like or the weather .
