At Chalet Gliere the accommodation is arranged over three floors with the main open plan living space on the first floor. Here, the comfortable seating area is separated from the dining area by a double sided wood burning fireplace. The table which can easily accommodate ten people is overlooked by the very well equipped and appointed kitchen which makes cooking a social event. From here you step out onto a spacious terrace which has a big dining table and a BBQ. Upstairs, there is a mezzanine snug area which overlooks the dining space and has a comfy sofa. On the ground floor there is a luxurious sauna room with a shower which opens onto a decked area where an eight person hot tub is positioned to take advantage of the amazing views. This is heated in the winter and makes a great cool off pool in the summer. The chalet is set in an acre of natural alpine garden with sloping grass and trees. The property also has a large drive and a garage for up to four cars.

The Stones family live in the UK when we are not spending time in France. Patrick works in property and Debra is a childminder. William loves skiing, football and computers. Our other children are all grown up and enjoy holidays with their partners at the chalet.
Debra Stones purchased this chalet in 2010
We spent 8 years holidaying in Samoens both summer and winter before taking the plunge and buying our own little piece of heaven. We had fallen in love with the region and all it has to offer for both an active outdoor life and somewhere to relax and re-energise. Great skiing and snowboarding, restaurants, mountain hikes and white water rafting are just some of the activities that we regularly enjoy. Sometimes just sitting with a book and a coffee at a mountain restaurant hits the spot.
The space and layout of the chalet make it a great place to socialise with family and friends. It is easy to chat over a glass of wine whilst making dinner. The fire makes the lounge and dining room warm and cosy or you can relax on the mezzanine whilst listening to some CD's and old LP's. The views from the terrace are amazing whether you are using the hot tub in winter or having a BBQ in the summer. William loves making snowmen or playing board games.
Patrick and Debra have created a fantastic home in the Alps. We have visited in winter and summer. It is stylish yet cosy for a family or group of friends to get together. The lifts are nearby enabling access to all the Grand Massif has to offer. Samoens is close by with a great choice of bars and restaurants

Chalet Gliere has a stunning location with beautiful views of the mountains and the Giffre valley. It is a three minute drive to the nearest ski lift and five minutes from the centre of Samoens. A pleasant 15 minute walk through the woods brings you to Morillon village where you can pick up your morning croissants. Samoens and the surrounding area has year round attractions from great skiing and boarding in winter to white water rafting, cycling and paragliding in the summer. There is a lido with three pools and a water slide and the lovely Lac Bleu which is a short walk away offers swimming, tennis, volleyball, horse riding and a canopy tree walk. Samoens has a thriving local community and offers a programme of family events especially during the holiday periods and a bustling market every Wednesday. It also has a good range of shops, restaurants and a pretty square where you can watch the world go by. In summer the main lifts are open giving you access to mountain walks.
Ski: La Gliere is located in the beautiful Grand Massif ski region with its 265km of piste which cater for all abilities. There are good ski schools in both Samoens and Morillon and an excellent infrastructure for skiers and families. You can also drive up to 1600. The Morillon 1400 lifts are also only a 5 minute drive away. You can access further slopes at Flaine and Les Carroz.
