An elegant, private 2 bedroom apartment in an Edwardian townhouse
Why Catherine Macdonald chose North West
Queensgate House is an original Edwardian townhouse built around 1903. It retains many of the original features including stained glass windows and still retains some of the old age charm of that era.. The surrounding area is residential with many fine examples of Victorian and Edwardian architecture but is in the midst of Glasgow's West end where there are many interesting attractions including museums, Glasgow University as well as many other interesting venues

Catharine and George were fantastic hosts. They met us at the door and took us on a tour of their beautiful historic home, ensuring that we understood everything about the appliances and amenities. Although the home is stately and elegant, it is so very cozy and we felt right at home.
It is walking distance to all the lovely shops and restaurants on Byers Road and the Underground.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to book again when we return to Glasgow.
Absolutely lovely home that we truly enjoyed!
Catherine was extremely welcoming and very helpful.
elegant and wonderful historic home in the West End
My husband and I stayed in this lovely home for 8 days in January. We both loved it--wonderful kitchen with an AGA, which I'd never cooked on before, very comfortable beds with high quality sheets, lovely garden though too cold for us to take advantage. A cozy sitting room with games and television. Elegant rugs, curtains, lovely taste in drapes and art. Lovely antiques. In short, this is a wonderful home. It would be ideal for two couples. It is near all the amenities of the West End. We lived in the kitchen because it was so bright and airy and warm, and we were both working at the kitchen table. And I finally got a chance to cook on an AGA--baked eggs, delicious roast veg, wonderful braises and so forth. The kitchen is very well equipped (aside from a good sharp paring knife). And the baths are lovely too--nice bathtub in one and walk-in shower in the other. Like most West End properties, not recommended for people who can't do stairs. Perfect for the mobile and those who like to cook. (Waitrose is a few short blocks away, plus both Oddbins and wonderful independent wine shop just a couple of blocks up the hill in Hyndland.)
Beautiful and spacious apartment in an excellent location
The apartment is elegantly decorated as well as being very comfortable. The rooms are spacious and we especially liked having a real king size bed. We were able to walk or use the subway to get to everywhere we wanted to go. Grocery stores and restaurants were a short walk away. The owners met us at the apartment and were very patient in explaining how to work the various appliances and showing us where things were located. We would highly recommend this property!
This is an architecturally interesting area with many historic listed buildings. Kelvingrove museum, The Mackintosh House, Botanic Gardens, Glasgow University, Hunterian Museum are all within a few minutes walking distance. A short walk away is a thriving shopping area with many restaurants , bars and other venues. Hillhead underground station is approximately 5 mins walk from the apartment.
