About the property

Sleeping up to 4 guests

A simple yet well-equipped property in the attractive village of Peasenhall, 3 Church Street offers comfortable accommodation and a place to escape. This Victorian terraced cottage overlooks the stunning 15th Century St Michael’s Church, and being off the main road yet centrally located in the village, is within easy walking distance of the village shops, pub and art gallery. 3 Church Street is spacious for a two-bedroom property with good-sized bedrooms, a bright, well-supplied kitchen with dining area, a large modern bathroom and cosy living room. A small enclosed courtyard at the rear of the property contains a table with seating for four people. The courtyard looks out over the church, offering a lovely, peaceful spot which catches the sun in the afternoon. Peasenhall is a charming village which has its own shop and Post Office, as well as the renowned Emmett’s delicatessen and Creasy’s butchers which specialises in high quality local produce. The surrounding countryside is ideal for cycling, with many quiet lanes and rural roads; the National Cycle Network runs through the village. It’s the ideal base from which to explore either further inland or the stunning Suffolk Coast, discover the local art and music scene and visit the wonderful RSPB site at nearby Minsmere. Snape Maltings, which has a farmer’s market on Saturday mornings and world-renowned orchestras playing at the concert hall in the evenings, is a short drive away. Just a little to the west of Peasenhall lies the picturesque market town of Framlingham, known for its impressive Norman castle. With the beaches and restaurants of Aldeburgh, Southwold and Walberswick a mere 12-14 miles away, and the National Trust Nature Reserve of Orford Ness a little further down the coast, it’s the perfect spot to locate yourself for a few days to explore all that Suffolk has to offer. Approximate travel time is 2 hours from London by car and 1.5 hours from Cambridge, with the nearest railway stations being Saxmundham or Darsham (4 miles away).
