Our Country Cottage is located in Chocorua Ski and Beach, a private vacation community in historical Tamworth, New Hampshire. The cottage is just a one minute walk to CS&B's private sand beach on heavenly Moore's Pond. Our beach sits in the reflection of Mt. Chocorua which rises above the far end of the Lake. The swimming area is roped off and includes a dock and two floats.
A shallow area is enclosed by the T-shaped dock for young children and non-swimmers to wade. No motorized boat traffic and no public access on Moore's Pond. From the deck of our cottage, you can watch your children play in CS&B's private playground or basket ball and horse shoe court. Our private tennis court is just a short walk away. Pets are allowed upon request.
Our cottage offers all amenities with a queen size bed and single and trundle upstairs in the loft and a bunk bed with a single upper bunk and double lower bunk. We also have a double pullout couch. Enjoy our deck on warm evenings or light a camp fire in the fire ring.
CS&B is a private community with private roads. The speed limit is 10 mph, great to let kids bike. A security guard is on duty every day. Our large wooded lot will give you plenty of privacy.
We are minutes from North Conway and the Lakes region. Hiking, biking and four wheeling trails start just 1/4 mile from the cottage. We provide a canoe upon request for fishing or paddling in the lake. Local attractions include the White Mountain National Forest, Cranmore, King Pine, Attitash, Black and Wildcat ski areas, Storeyland, the Remick Farm Museum and the Barnstormers theater, Squam Lakes Science Center. Don't forget outlet shopping in North Conway. We are minutes from many fine restaurants.
Power boating is allowed on Silver lake, just minutes away or the better known lakes Squam and Winnepeasauke.
We stayed in the cottage with our children aged 5,6 and 8. We had a wonderful time. The playground is across the 10mph street, the nice sandy beach a 2 min walk away. The children did not want to leave the park.. Surprisingly few bugs.
Quaint, quiet little spot to relax and connect with family. Just a short drive from area attractions. Our stay was after the beach was winterized but it had beautiful views of the foliage. We could tell the little community takes great pride in the area! The cottage was cozy and had the basics to cook and enjoy each others' company. The owner was very good about communicating during the rental process-it was our first time using Home Away:)
My family and I recently came back from a wonderful long weekend at this cabin. First off, I would like to sincerely thank the owner Charles for accommodating us. We had originally booked it for a couple of weeks before for a full week but our dog had to have emergency surgery (2) following an accident so we had to cancel last minute. Charles was so understanding and offered us the long weekend. We were so glad to not have to completely miss our vacation.
The location was perfect for us. It was centrally located between North Conway, Meredith, and Wolfeboro. It took under 30 min to get to any of them. The town itself is small and rural. There is a nearby convenience store (5 min) and Dunkin Donuts (5 min) as well as a pretty good breakfast place - Rosie's (5 min). There is one of those adventure ropes courses 5 min from the cabin called Monkey Trunks. The cabin is in a great little community with dirt roads and a 10 mile an hour speed limit-so it was perfect for the kids. No traffic. The kids could ride bikes or play outside without any worry. The playground is literally 20 steps (if that)n from the front door. The beach is a 3 min. walk from the house. Our kids loved the floating dock and the canoe. There were beach chairs, sand toys, beach buggy in the shed which was a big plus. The cabin itself is rustically charming. Bunks in first floor bedroom and a loft bedroom open to downstairs on 2nd floor. Our kids are 9, 6, and 4 so this wasn't a problem. It was nice there was a twin in the upstairs loft with a trundle as well as a double bed so our youngest could be with us. The kitchen is small but with most things you need. We ate out for the most part. The fire pit in the back yard was perfect for s'mores. Our dog loved it too! The only thing we wish is we had more time to do all the fun things in the area. We can't wait to go back and spend a whole week!
This is a wonferful cottage, perfect for a family with small kids! If you are looking for a well maintained, relaxing, and charming cottage, this is the place to be - and I'm speaking from experience...our family has rented this cottage SIX years in a row and we couldn't be more happy with it. We've also recommended the cottage to friends who have also enjoyed it. The cottage sits on a large lot across from the playground and is one of the closest properties to the beach. From the cottage, you can keep a close eye on your young children as they play in the playground while you enjoy a book and a beverage on the deck. The beach is well maintained and kept very clean. The water is always warm, and there is a roped-off swimming area. From the cottage, its a short drive to North-Conway (factory outlet shopping) or to Old Orchard Beach in Maine for a day at the ocean. We will be renting this property again next summer, and we would highly recommend it to anyone!
This cottage was as described in the notice and more. We spent 8 days and although the weather was inclement, it was the quiet retreat we, as a family needed. Our young daughter LOVED the playground and the bunk beds. The lake was delightful and the owners ( our hosts ) were hospitable and kind. Highly recommened any time of year.
