A true slice of luxury in the world-famous Val Thorens resort, this is an ideal winter getaway for those of you looking to enjoy a dream skiing vacation.

Set out over 3 well-thought-out floors, the Raphael is decorated in traditional Alpine style and features a balcony and a fireplace. There is also a fully-equipped kitchen. To top it all of, its situation makes it an ideal vacation rental for families due to its proximity to both the second largest shopping center in the resort and the Roc de Peclet building which houses day-care and a children's club. To add to the experience, guests will be able to come and go as they please through a private entrance, even though the apartment is part of a greater residence - no need to worry about waking anyone else up if you're leaving at dawn or coming home late!

                    A good quality apartment in a great location. 50 paces to the slopes or back to the apartment at the end of the day. Nice view across the central ski lift area and beyond. There was a supermarket opposite and handy lift up to the bars and restaurants on the main road. Close to ski hire, lift pass office.

                    The apartment was well equipped, with plenty of mugs, glasses etc. Lots of hot water and decent shower. Comfy beds, enough pillows and nice to have a mid week towel change. The lounge furniture, sofa and two tub chairs, was adequate for our party of 4, but really only sat 5 max, in an apartment for up to 8.

                    A bread delivery service was offered but we were so close to the shop we didn't use it.

                    There is a garage integral to some apartments, which we benefitted from (although had been told that there was no parking when we booked).

                    As with many apartments the noise carries between rooms and we had noisy neighbours including early hours partying. The reception manager was quick to offer advice on reporting noise nuisance so the company could address it with those causing the problem.

                    Val is a high density resort compared to some and this attracts a young crowd wanting low cost accommodation and parts of the resort reflect this in the bars and vibe (and number of boarders on slopes, noticeably higher than elsewhere).

                    Overall a good apartment with facilities as advertised and friendly, swift service both from booking staff and in resort staff.

                    As somebody else noted these really are not apartments, they're more like 4-story townhouses. A group of six of us took one of the 6-8 person "apartments" earlier this month, two couples and two guys. You could put 8 adults in one of these and there are certainly enough chairs around the table so totally doable.

                    It worked very well for us with 6 people.

                    The garage/ski area on the ground floor is great as you walk right in off the road to leave you car/skis in there, then just ascend the stairs to the 1st floor (common area) of your house.

                    The staff were really helpful and friendly. The location is also perfect, you can ski away from the back of the building (20 meters walk) and coming in at night it's 150 meters walk from the top of the magic carpet to the building.

                    They are very clean, spacious and well equipped - if we go to Val Thorens again we would stay in it without question!

                    I need not have been concerned about booking this apartment which had not been reviewed at the time. Everything ran like clockwork from booking to departure.

                    Booking & payment was easy, all queries answered within 12hrs, info arrived exactly as stated. The apartment is spacious, well furnished and well kept, in a block of about 10, virtually ski in/out (snow to lifts around the back), immediately opposite a supermarket, and 5 minutes walk from centre, restaurants etc. Kitchen equipped sufficiently to cook & self cater properly.

                    Starter essentials like dishcloth, liquid, loo rolls, fire wood provided on arrival. Nice fresh laundry & towels, the latter replaced midweek. A note left at reception regarding any problems (we had light bulb requiring replacement and shower stopping draining) dealt with whilst out skiing. Would definitely recommend.
