It is on the top floor of an attractive, modern, four-story building with a marbled entrance and an elevator. There is plenty of on street parking right outside the building. The apartment includes a large entryway, a large living-dining room, and a well-equipped separate kitchen with laundry facilities. The exterior side of the apartment consists almost entirely of windows, so it is very light and sunny with views of green fields and part of the village. There is a large, brand new children's playground just up the street. The village has two restaurants, a pizzería, and several bars, one with a pool table. There is a bank with an ATM machine, and shops include a pharmacy, a fishmonger, a bakery, and two small supermarkets; a large supermarket and and a multitude shops, bars and restaurants are available nearby, in the beautiful, medieval town of Viveiro, 15 mins away.

  • There is one full bathroom on each floor, each with a bath with shower. Both bathrooms are brand new and very nice. There is plenty of hot water. Towels and bath mats are provided.

  • Bedroom 1 - 1 double , on first floor, one whole wall is windows
    Bedroom 2 - 2 twin/ single , can be put together to form a double bed,
    Bedroom 3 - 2 twin/ single , very large room, perfect for children
  • One bedroom is downstairs (on the third floor of the building). This room has a double bed. One wall is all windows and there is a view of the village and fields. There are blinds that cut out all light and also blinds that cut out the sun. It has its own full bathroom. Ample hanging and storage space in double fitted wardrobe. The other two bedrooms are upstairs (on the fourth floor of the building) and share a full bathroom with bath, shower and bidet. They both have attractive pine ceilings, and one has a huge skylight window that opens. Both have fitted wardrobes with ample storage space. Both have twin beds which can easily be put together to form a large double bed, and there is double bed linen for this use. One is a very large room which is idea for children and could accommodate at least two more on air mattresses or something similar.

The kitchen is separate from the living room and is fully equipped, including new appliances - dishwasher, washing machine, fridge with freezer and oven with grill, vitro ceramic stove top and extractor fan. There is plenty of free parking available on the street below, and a nice playground for young children half a block away. The entrance way to the building is elegant and clean, and there is an elevator to reach the third floor. Cleaning service available upon request (extra cost). Free internet facilities are available in the public library, which is just around the corner.

An excellent apartment with great customer care

We arrived quite late at night (approx 11pm) and the arrangements for getting the key worked well. The apartment has plenty of space for a family and the two bathrooms are a godsend! All the facilities are as described and our two weeks stay went very well. We enjoyed total privacy during our stay, but support and help was available via email and phone if needed. We had a small problem with the Wi-Fi, which was put right quickly and with a great deal of attention to customer service by the owner. I cannot praise her too highly for doing all that she could to make our stay enjoyable and resolve any problems, however small.

The area is a good location for a family, with a huge variety of beaches within 5 to 15 minutes driving distance. Be aware that the sea can be cold, although that didn't deter our children!. There are surfing schools at the Praia de' Esteiro and Praia San Roman. There are several good restaurants, but the one we liked the best is the Hotel Semaforo de Bares (on a headland which is the most northerly point in Spain)where the food is very good and two of the staff speak English. Our favourite was the Paella Marisco, but you do need to order it in advance (it takes more than an hour to cook). Directions to the beaches and descriptions of the restaurants are all in the "welcome pack" which is emailed to you and available in the apartment.

We can thoroughly recommend the area, the apartment and the attention to customer service shown by Siusan (the owner). Truly a 5-star service.

A very spacious and comfortable apartment in a quiet and well-kept block

The apartment is clean, bright, comfortable and well-equipped. The living area and all 3 bedrooms are spacious, and the kitchen and bathrooms are more cramped but well-appointed. In early June, few of the other apartments were in use, so the block was very quiet, but the public areas were very well-maintained. We regretted not having a balcony or other outside sitting space, and the fact that all the windows face inland although the beautiful bay is just a few meters away - but we knew that before we arrived, the inland view is open and interesting, and the apartment was excellent value for money. Siusan showered us with information before we travelled and was speedy and thorough in response to messages. O Vicedo is a delightful and friendly village, with enough shops to meet all basic needs (and an excellent stationery/book shop), easy access to the FEVE coastal train service and to a host of glorious unspoiled beaches and clifftops, and an unpretentious but superb bar/restaurant on the quayside. We hardly ever holiday in the same place twice, but have recommended this apartment to family and friends.

Very well equipped clean and spacious property.

The property is very nice, lots of room and very comfortable. Highly recommend it.

Easy parking directly outside and lift to all floors.

You need a car to explore the area, we drove out to see some great coastlines.

Town itself is a little limited in choice for shops and restaurants but still has all you need.

Give apartment 5 stars, town 3 stars.

It's worth it !

All in all, we had a lovely stay in Galicia.

The apartment is very well-equiped and maintained. It was far enough space for us (4 adults, 1 child) and the small city of O Vicedo seems very authentic, though not very turistic.

There is the 'Casa de la cultura' right around the corner, where you can get free wifi, good and very cheap drinks and tapas.

By car or by foot you can explore the surroundings, plenty of small beaches with high water quality and if you look a little bit around you find some interesting activities, such as going by Kajak (ESTACA in O Barqueiro), surfing (surf scool Oxígeno in Viveiro/ beach Esterio) or go shopping in A Coruña, which is 1,5hours away. But don`t expect to be surrounded by tourist sites - its a rura surrounding and you have to search for yuorsef. But be patiant, it's worth it!

You can get fresh and very good seafood nearly everywhere (e.g. the restaurant los árboles at the Xilloi Beach).

O Vicedo is a perfect place from which to explore the beautiful and unspoilt north-western coast of Spain, known for its fishing villages, scores of clean, sandy beaches, wild horses, and delicious seafood. Three sandy coves and two long beaches of white sand are within easy walking distance (5 - 15 mins). Spectacular views of the coastline can be seen from the lighthouses located at northernmost point of Spain, only 15 minutes away, and from walks along the cliff tops. Another wonderful place to walk is along the wooded banks of the River Sor, and miles of quiet country roads through fields and eucalyptus trees are ideal for walking or biking. Kayaks may be rented locally for use on the river, the bay, or the sea. The picturesque medieval town of Viveiro with its steep pedestrian streets has many amenities and is also a beautiful place to explore. Recommended longer day trips include the beautiful pilgrimage city of Santiago de Compostela and the Ribeira Sacra and Ribeiro wine regions
