About the property

Wilson House, sleeps 5 with small courtyard and store at the back

Wilson House, 27 Argyle Street, was brand new to the rental market late summer 2017. It provides a stunning central base for up to 5 people and is located near St Andrews' West Port. Wilson House is a south facing compact town house sleeping up to five people.

The house is on two levels and has a small courtyard with table and chairs out the back, there is also a lockable store in the courtyard.

On the ground floor you have the kitchen/diner with washer/dryer and then a twin bedded room with en suite shower room.

Upstairs you have a single bedroom next to the King (UK King is 5ft wide) bedroom, sitting room and a further shower room shared by the single and the king room. Both bathrooms have underfloor heating and heated towel rails.

The house is a traditional town house, full of character with varying door heights and widths. We have free wi-fi and the full Sky TV package upstairs in the sitting room and downstairs in the kitchen. Travel cot (bring own bedding), baby bath, and high chair available if requested/booked.

Parking - If you are lucky you can get parked for free opposite the property but it should be noted that parking is available in the 2 Argyle Street car parks very close to the property - £3.80 per day or you can park nearer the tennis courts for free.

It is only one minute’s walk from St. Andrews' West Port. On arriving at the West Port you will instantly be amongst the bustle of the shops, bars and cafes of this lively university town. The flat is about 5-10 minutes walk from the first hole of The Old Course and because of its location all parts of town are easily accessible on foot. A minute or two in the opposite direction of the West Port you will find the Lade Braes which offers leafy walks beside the Kinness Burn.

I am from Fife and my husband Tim was born and brought up in St. Andrews. I was a student here so we both know the town very well although we don't currently live here.

Why Suki Stobbs chose Saint Andrews

Tim's family owned and operated a soft drinks brewery called Wilson & Co located behind this property. In the 1980s the brewery became flats and this house, the lemonade maker's house was sold. We have now bought it back to create a luxury townhouse which we have named Wilson House in honour of the past. You will see the old lemonade and ginger beer bottles displayed in the kitchen and sitting room.

What makes this house unique

Being an old house you will find some doorways are wider and taller than others which adds a bit of character, it is not a new build. You will enjoy its central location, its beautifully designed interior and its comfort.

Really enjoyed this lovely cosy house

Brilliantly designed accomodation - perfect for our family trip for five adults - with an occasional sixth dropping in for a cup of tea!

We felt that we were in safe and experienced hands. Every little detail is well thought through - and the communication and care was excellent. We look forward to booking again soon.

Perfect Spot

Loved this home. Comfortable, clean, quiet, tasteful, and centrally located. We parked our car and never touched it for 4 days. St Andrews is a fabulous place and you definitely want to stay somewhere that compliments the charm of the town, and this place does this. We were a family of 4 with two young boys and all of our needs were met. Thank you Suki!

Beautifully appointed but weird layout

Property has a great location; within walking distance of all St Andrews has to offer.

The house is tastefully decorated with top rate amenities. However the layout of the house didn’t work well for two couples. Having the living room and main TV upstairs was inconvenient and cumbersome. Consequently we spent most of our time together at home in the kitchen where it was less comfortable and somewhat crowded due to the large breakfast table and chairs set. Common social area on first floor would have been more enjoyable.

Exquisite inner city home

Beautiful and well appointed interior of the home. Modern, but homey too. A lot of care went into the remodel of this home. Everything worked. Some use instructions could have been displayed more prominently vs. being later found in drawers. Would definitely stay here again for 5bese reasons, but also due to close proximity to the golf courses and the center city. Parking was convenient and pay lots located within a few yards and cheap if free on street parking was not available.

Perfection.

Stayed for 9 nights on a “sisters trip.” Perfect base location as we not only did the St A’s and Fife coastal sights, but also went on a 2 day excursion to Edinburgh and a one 1 day outing to Sterling, Doune Castle, Wallace Monument and Gleneagle. The nearby cheese shop, wine store and fresh food store kept our fridge stocked well. Will return (my daighter is a student) and will look to rent here again.
