Set in grounds of approximately 3 acres, this architect designed and renovated stone house is situated on the edge of Saint Clar, a pretty market town with all amenities. In an elevated position affording stunning views across the surrounding unspoilt Gers countryside, the property offers peace and tranquility without being isolated. The house itself has a spacious, light and airy living room with open fireplace, and leads out on to the large south facing terrace. There is a newly fitted and fully equipped kitchen, utiity room and office area, as well as 3 double bedrooms each with either a balcony or terrace (2 with en suite shower rooms) and 1 twin room with en suite. Oil fired central heating. Wi-Fi and satellite TV with Sky Sports package included.
Outside is a beautifully appointed swimming pool (10m x 5m), overlooked by the lovely south-facing terrace, ideal for al fresco dining. Gas BBQ supplied. There is another decked terrace with dart board. A double car port in natural limestone completes the property.
The house is approximately 1 hours drive from Toulouse International airport, which has daily flights to and from the UK with British Airways and Easyjet. The Bastide market town of St Clar is a mere 6 minute walk away with an excellent supermarket, 2 x boulangeries, a market every Thursday, local bars and restaurants, bank and hairdresser and tabac.
St Clar also has a Base de Loisirs (outside water and amusement park), ideal for children, which offers water slides, lake, beach, pedalos, games and a restaurant and is a 10 minute drive away. Further afield (9km) is the larger town of Fleurance, which offers a more comprehensive range of shopping, a large regional market every Tuesday, and a 9 hole (soon to be 18 hole) golf course nearby. There are 4 x sets of golf clubs available for your use ! There are also 2 tennis courts in St Clar that can be hired and tennis rackets are also supplied for your use.
Cycling enthusiasts can enjoy the challenge of the rolling countryside that typifies the region (bicycles supplied), and kayaking, go-karting and water skiing are all within a 40 minute drive. There are also inflatables for the swimming pool, a croquet set, and of course a set of Boules !!
Bed linen, bath and pool towels are included in the rental. The garden and swimming pool are maintained, and there is a local agent available for queries. The property is cleaned weekly, before and after departure, with the option for a weekly clean for rentals of two or more weeks.

My wife and I bought this lovely house 4 years ago, having previously owned an old French farmhouse some 20 kilometers away. We love the region, with its beautiful rolling landscape, totally unspoiled, and a wonderful retreat from the hurly burly of every day life. We spend 3-4 months here every year, embracing the local culture and cuisine !
