Downstairs bed/sitting room (with an extra bed on platform above)
Bathroom with bath and shower
Newly fitted kitchen
Private off street parking (ample space for 2 cars)
Small outside seating area.
The Old Coach House can potentially sleep six. But you'll all need to be good friends. Because four of you will have to sleep in the bed/sitting room. You'll all have to share the one bathroom and the small kitchen.
The first double bedroom is the old hayloft of the coach-house. Very light and spacious with one window overlooking our courtyard and another overlooking our garden. The floor is wooden. The ceilings are sloping and there are old wooden beams. There's a double bed. A small sitting area around a coffee table. A study area with an L-shaped desk.
The second double bedroom (family room) is downstairs. It is the old wash-house. A very characterful room with exposed brickwork, an old solid fuel iron cooking range and high sloping ceiling. If you are only booking for two guests, this room becomes your living room with sofa, armchair and coffee table. If you are a larger party, there will be one double bed in this room. Then on a raised platform, an additional small double bed. (4ft) (Actually even a bit smaller because it's metric). Ideal for a single person or two children. This bed is accessed up a steep narrow staircase. (Mind your head!).
There's a little seating area outside - just for you!
The Old Coach House has been extensively renovated this year with new carpets and redecoration.
There's a really good wifi signal and high speed internet connection. The Old Coach House has its own wifi access point to a Virgin Media 200 Mbs fibre optic broadband connection. There are ethernet sockets in each bedroom if you prefer to have a wired connection.
You have a Freeview flat screen TV in each bedroom. And downstairs there's a Cambridge Audio wireless loudspeaker so you can play your own music from a phone or tablet.
In the kitchen you have an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge freezer, and washer dryer. You get a range of cereal, muesli, juice, fresh fruit, real coffee, teas and milk so that you can make your own breakfast. There are two cafes very close by if you want to go out for breakfast. And there's a local bakery just round the corner selling fresh bread. For meals later in the day there's traditional pub food at the nearby Byron House pub. And a multitude of different eating places and local pubs a short walk away.
If you need a travel cot or high chair, do ask, we can usually let you borrow ours.
The Old Coach House has it's own independent gas central heating and unlimited hot water. (new boiler fitted 2017). All bedding is 100% cotton. And there are plenty of towels - no need to bring your own.
