Lake View is a newly refurbished, 1 bedroomed apartment in the heart of Bowness on Windermere. Situated on the 2nd floor in an elevated position it provides wonderful views from both the bedroom and living room: across the lake there is a panorama of the fells from the Langdale Pikes to Ill Bell and looking southwards down the lake across Bowness village.
Lake View is in a quiet and private location, yet is very close to many restaurants, cafes, shops and bars and just 5 minutes walk from Bowness Bay. There is parking for one vehicle.
We have created a comfortable and clean apartment with good quality furnishings and everything you need to have a comfortable and relaxing break in the heart of the beautiful English Lake District, which was awarded UNESCO World Heritage status in July 2017. The apartment is self contained comprising 1 bedroom, 1 living room, bathroom with both bath and shower and a fully equipped kitchen.
Free wifi is available throughout the flat, which usually provides around 10Mb/sec download speeds. There are good quality SMART LED televisions, (full HD in the bedroom and 4K in the living room), providing Freesat programmes and the living room TV is connected into a Cambridge Audio hifi providing high quality 12:1 sound. The Cambridge amplifier provides CD playback, a DAB radio tuner and Bluetooth connectivity. There is also a BLU-RAY DVD player connected to the living room TV and Cambridge Audio amplifier and we provide a small DVD library for your entertainment during your stay with us.
Lake View is situated near the centre of Bowness village but as it is stands in an elevated position overlooking the village, lake and fells, it is very quiet. There is a good pub hotel with restaurant just across the road and a Co-Operative supermarket 150 yards away. A short walk, (less than 5 minutes) down Crag Brow through the village brings you to bustling Bowness Bay and the many boats and ferries on the piers. Bowness village has many independent shops as well as better known chains and a large choice of pubs, bars and restaurants. The centre of Windermere is less than a mile away and it too has a good selection of pubs, restaurants, coffee shops and small independent shops.
There are good bus services offering routes throughout The Lakes and a train station at Windermere, which connects to Kendal and then Oxenholme The Lakes on the Glasgow to London West Coast Line. Bicycles and cars, including electric ones, can be hired from a number of local locations. Ferries can be taken from Bowness Bay to both Ambleside (Waterhead) and Newby Bridge, (Lakeside) with smaller launches taking people to many other landing points around the lake. Motor and rowing boats can be hired and there is opportunity to sail, canoe and kayak on the lake too.
Lake View is not suitable for people with disabilities. It is on the top, (2nd), floor of a large Victorian house and there are 36 steps from the main entrance to the apartment. There is no lift and although this does not pose a problem for most people, please only bring what you are comfortable carrying.

The flat itself is of a premium quality and everything you could possibly need is within it. It is so spacious and tastefully decorated, I could happily live there myself. In terms of the local area everything is right on the doorstep and although the town itself is quite active it is very peaceful up inside the flat both day and night. Stephen and Wendy are excellent hosts and we had the pleasure of meeting Stephen whilst (EMAIL HIDDEN) communication has been fantastic throughout and everything you need to know is given to you in advance and when you are there. This is the perfect apartment to stay in the Lake District. Everything about this apartment was perfect. It was so spacious for two people. The views of the lake are incredible. It was so cozy.
