About Jill Ballantyne
I have two children, ages 22 and 18, and we we have lived in Bend for over 11 years. I taught Spanish at a local high school the past 10 years and was in elementary education for almost 20 in California. I got my real estate broker's license at the end of 2017 and am thrilled to be working with Keller Williams Central Oregon. I'd love to help you find your dream home in Bend, should you decide to stay permanently, buy a second home or find an investment property. I am very involved in cycling (of all kinds) and skiing. Bend has been an incredible place to raise my kids because of its natural beauty and all of the outdoor activities that are so easily accessible. We love to get out and enjoy all the trails here, float and paddle the river and relax at the many nearby lakes. We love to visit friends and family in southern California and Truckee, as well as travel to places where we can practice our Spanish. I love to share all that I can about Bend; this amazing place I get to call home! I'm happy to answer any questions you may have.

Why Jill Ballantyne chose Southern Crossing
I found this property about 6 years ago. There was a single wide trailer that I had removed in order to build my own home. There is a huge volcanic rock (20' X 20') that sits in the middle of the property and is a natural barrier between my home and the Casita. The rock is my favorite feature and is where the name "Casita de la Roca" comes from. The best part of this location is that the river is 1/10 of a mile from my door! You can carry your raft, kayak or paddle board down to the river and go! Walk 1/2 mile upstream for some class 4 rapids and some sweet fishing spots. There is a beautiful park 1/4 mile away with a playground and walking paths which take you to the Old Mill area with numerous shops and restaurants. I LOVE my home and hope you will, too!
What makes this Cottage unique
If you love a quiet, peaceful, natural environment, I know you will love this home. In summer, leave the windows open and enjoy the sound of the river! The Deschutes River Trail is right across the street and not to be missed. There are not many places that allow you to hop in the river from home and take the river all the way to town! I've had guests float the river from the house, hop out to have a beer at Red Robin, and then continue the float to Drake Park! This is truly a magical place!

Cute and cozy!
We had a great time at Jill’s cute cabin. It was very clean and really cozy. It is in a great location. All communication with Jill was easy as well as a quick response time on any questions we had. We would definitely recommend it to our friends and will look forward to coming back in the future. Thanks Jill! We enjoyed meeting you!!
Perfect location for access to river trail.
Everything super clean, well stocked and organized. Shops and nature within walking distance. Look forward to going back.
The property is just as described and shown. Clean, quiet and peaceful. Thanks!!
The casita is located 200 yards from the Deschutes River and trail. The Old Mill which has several restaurants, shops and a movie theater is located one mile away. Downtown is 2.5 miles away and for those who like to walk or ride a bike, there is a path along the river for 90% of the way. Most guests describe my neighborhood as feeling like a campground. Lots of trees, huge rocks and many deer. There are mountain biking trails 3-5 miles from the casita and for those who want to get up higher for biking/hiking, there are numerous trails that are about 15-20 minutes away by car.
