About Didi Ivey
I have worked in property management and the hospitality industry most of my life. It is important that my guests feel they are receiving value for money and are living in the lap of luxury. This I hope you will agree with once you have stayed in my property.
Didi Ivey purchased this House in 2017
Why Didi Ivey chose Northleach
It is brilliantly located with all local amenities a stride away yet it is in a quiet location. Northleach is a beautiful small market town nestled in the Cotswolds. It really doesn't get much better than this! It couldnt be more perfect for Cheltenham Gold Cup week. I can provide catering and transport - you only have to ask !
What makes this House unique
No 2 The Old Bakery has such a friendly feel to it. The property faces south so when we have sun (!) it pours into every room. I like the fact that there are two sitting rooms with a kitchen in between. Its just lovely. The beds and bedding is of the best quality as sleep is as important as everything else.

The Old Bakery was ideally suited for our family get together being a stone's throw from our daughters house and the local hostelry where we celebrated. Plenty of room in the Bakery for us all to continue partying, looks small on arrival but accommodation is a real "Tardis". Comfy beds and lounges. The owner DiDi couldn't have been more helpful. This morning we are just getting the house "ship shape" before our departure.
A most enjoyable 11 days in Northleach
The house is a very well designed and constructed. New construction supplements the old which in some cases is 2' thick Cotswold stone. The exterior blends in with all the nearby houses. The single parking space for the car takes up most of the yard behind a tall wooden gate. There is no garden so this is the only exterior area The yard in warm weather (which we did not have) will be a pleasant outdoor eating space for which tables and chairs are provided. There is street parking just outside the gate.
We arrived during a cold spell but the house was always uniformly and comfortably warm.
The location is most convenient as it is next to the town (it is more like a village) center with small shops providing most of the basics literally yards away. These include a pharmacy, grocery, bakery (actually supplied early each morning from another location) and the most excellent Castle Butcher. But also it is a 5 minute walk into the countryside with miles of designated public footpaths. We really appreciated the map on the dining room wall which identified these. Since our last visit to Northleach the Coop has opened up a large, easily accessible store in Bourton on the Water which is nearly equivalent to the super stores in Cirencester and Cheltenham but much more convenient to get to.
There were only three of us so we had lots of room. The beds were excellent but my son and I (6'5" & 6'7") found the living room sofas a bit too low. We had some trouble getting used to the showers which I really think are not a good design. I was not too sure how rubbish is sorted into recyclables and trash so an explanatory sheet on that would be helpful. For example where does paper go?
Didi was most accommodating and I congratulate her on her fine property which I am sure will, with the occasional tweek, be a great home-away for many families like ours for years to come.
Just perfect for our weekend
Great location and well equipped accommodation
We really enjoyed staying here. It is beautifully furnished and decorated and very conveniently located.
Thank you for your lovely review - it was a pleasure having you to stay - come again!
Excellent home and position in the heart of The Cotswolds
Excellent facilities, lots of space and a perfect place to stay.
We had the best mini break made better by staying in this lovely house. The photos don’t do it justice. My husband and I loved having two living rooms so the kids could watch their tv programmes in the evening. The beds were comfy. The sofas we really cosy and we loved the log burner. The position of the house is perfect for exploring the Cotswolds. We had a meal in The Wheatsheaf Inn which was stunning. We were made very welcome with our three children.
Burton on the water is very close with lots to do with kids. Birdland was fab! The model village enchanting and the motor museum.
The village of Northleach is very beautiful too.
We had a very much needed escape.
Thank you for a fantastic holiday.
