Luxury Ski Chalet only 35 minutes from Salzburg in Austria's most beautiful lake district. 2 Double bedrooms + 2 self contained suites. The suites have en suite bathrooms and each has it own balcony. The house has separate internal front doors to the ground floor and the two suites upstairs which means group members can have total privacy if and when they want it. The property is modern but built in the style of a typical Austrian Skiing Chalet.

The floors are cherry wood and warm. Located in a private road with easy access to the main route in and out of Strobl.

There is an amazing multimedia room in the basement with another TFT flat screen, this time 42', A state of the art games machine - Sony PS3, two dual core PC's with wide screens and games plus a Skype phone for free or cheap phone calls. There is wifi in the Chalet and another computer, portable, in the one of the top suites. The kids will love it.

Golf: If you love Golf you'll love the local Salzkammergut Golf Club. The views are stunning, mountains, blue skies and clean fresh air. Now approaching its 70th Birthday the Salzkammergut Golf Club, is a mature course set in rolling parkland. Trees line the fairways and it makes excellent use of the natural contours of the land. The green keeping is of the highest standard with immaculate true running greens. The club has an excellent clubhouse with restaurant and pro shop. Next door to the course is the Franz Laimer Golf Training Centre, which has modern indoor and outdoor training facilities.

Christmas markets: There are wonderful Christmas markets in the area. Nothing looks more like a 'real' Christmas than the beautiful buildings in Strobl and St. Wolfgang covered in snow and market stalls dressed with lights. St. Wolfgang also has a permanent Christmas shop.

Salzburg: Salzburg is worth a trip to Austria on its own and if you stay in our Chalet it's less than 40 minutes away. The route is really simple and mostly on a single Motorway. It is the birthplace of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and the setting for parts of the musical and film The Sound of Music. Great shopping and food.

A great chalet in a great location

  • 5 of 5

Chalet was easy to find thanks to the great directions supplied by the owner.

Plenty of space and very well appointed. Lovely rooms and a bonus of a huge basement / TV room including computers with internet access,

Many attractions are within easy reach so an ideal base for a holiday enabling us to ride cable cars and visit many of the pretty lakeside towns and even go down a salt mine.

Highly recommended - we shall be back!

A great place to spend a holiday

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this chalet with friends in June. It is spacious and comfortable and makes a great base for exploring the local area.

We made the most of the good weather we had, going on some lovely walks around the lakes nearby. We also took the ferry across the lake to St Gilgen (Take a trip up on the cable car for views over the town and the lake.)

The mountain views are stunning and there are plenty of places to visit within a short drive of the chalet. We would recommend a visit to the Dachstein 5 Fingers viewing platform and ice cave near Obertraun.

The local restaurant, within walking distance of the chalet, is well worth a visit. The food was delicious and the service friendly and attentive.

All in all this was a great place to holiday.

Beautiful chalet

  • 5 of 5

The chalet is beautiful, modern, homely, spacious and very well equipped. It is also very clean and well maintained. We felt at home straight away.

The bedrooms are lovely and very cosy and the beds are so comfy.

The room in the basement is fabulous with lots to keep the kids entertained, with the internet, PS3 and lots of films.

The location is just perfect. Everything is so close. We didn't need to go far to ski. The restaurants are great and we enjoyed our walks. The views in the area are just amazing! There are also some lovely gift shops.

We would definitely love to come back here again!

Perfect Chalet

  • 5 of 5

We love this chalet.

We went first in the summer and then returned for Skiing in the Winter last year.

It's a perfect location with so much to do and see.

Everything in the chalet is new and clean, you feel at home the moment you open the door.

The bedrooms are cosy and the multimedia room is a real surprise.

My son loved the PS3 and Teddy Bear chair, my husband liked having the Internet and I enjoyed watching the films on the large TV with sursound sound.

Of course Austria is all about the outside and there is so much to do in both summer and winter.

Wonderful food, great views, walks, water sports etc.. and skiing in the Winter. We also made a few day trips to Salzburg as its so near and is really worth visiting.

We love the chalet so much we are going back for our third time in Feb 2010 for the Skiing, can't wait!

A wonderful location for Skiing in the Winter or walking and bike riding in the summer. St. Wolfgang is less than 5 minutes from the Chalet with stunning views, boat trips and shops. Strobl is among the most famous holiday resorts in the Salzkammergut region and features almost all kinds of sports and leisure time facilities.

The Postalm area (1,200-2,000m altitude) near Strobl is the largest mountain plateau in Austria (40 km²). In summer one can go on extensive hiking tours, in winter the ski center has 8 lifts, numerous downhill slopes and Nordic ski tracks at all levels of difficulty. Local Alpine golf courses are some of the most beautiful in the Alps.

There is also balloon rides, paragliding, glider rides, motor biking, horse riding, fishing, swimming, sailing and mountain biking to be enjoyed in the summer, and snowboarding, snowshoe hiking, cross-country skiing, ice climbing, ice diving, zorbing, snow biking etc in the winter.

Ski: This is the perfect place to learn to Ski! Very safe due to being the second highest plateau in Europe. Very wide area s to ski in. Up to a third of the cost of other resorts. Cheap Ski hire, free Ski bus.

Whether you’re a skier, snowboarder or cross-country enthusiast the Postalm arena above the Chalet will be fun for all the family.

On Austria’s largest winter alp. Fresh cross-country runs captivate fans of all ages, while wonderfully groomed slopes make the skier’s heart miss a beat – whatever their ability. Whether it’s carving, boarding or turning, every move is a sheer pleasure. The resort also offers plenty of refreshments in the countless alpine huts.Safe fun for the kids from December onwards, the new winter fun park entertains even the smallest of non-skiers, giving parents a well-deserved break. Snow games and fun sports equipment, as well as Europe’s longest magic carpet, put everyone in a good mood at the ski kindergarten and ski School.
