The most desirable residential area in Edinburgh. It is also a Unesco World Heritage Site on account of its Georgian Architecture. Tucked away from the main road, this quiet street is perfectly located. The area is peppered with high-end restaurants, a mix of proper pubs, and more fashionable bars and art galleries. The Playhouse theatre is just across the road. To the south, The Royal Mile and Castle are 15-20 minutes away on foot, and to the north is bustling Leith and the Shore. Nearby Broughton Street is full of lovely restaurants, bars, cafes, independent shops, a fishmonger and butcher's shop. The expansive selection of shops on George Street and Princes Street are only a couple of minutes' walk away.
Waverley Railway Station is 5-10 minutes away by foot. The York Place Tram stop is just around the corner and runs regularly to and from the Airport, which is very close to the National Portrait Gallery. Cars can be parked in the near-by Omni centre ("Q Park Omni"). There is also a Hertz car rental 2 minutes away .

Lovely apartment in a great area - really spacious and comfortable. Great bar and restaurant recommendations.
A perfect base to explore a beautiful city
We spent two nights here and loved every moment. The flat is spacious, well equipped and perfectly located to explore Edinburgh, being just a few minutes walk to New Town and Princes Street and a few minutes more to the Old Town. The bed is very comfortable, the bath and shower are great and the kitchen is well stocked - we didn't want for anything. We also took advantage of the Drambuie, which went down very well after a day exploring. We only wish we could have stayed longer. Top tips include the Educated Flea, just round the corner - good food, atmosphere and staff - and the Herbivores Kitchen if you're into vegan/vegetarianism! Thanks to Richard and Celia for being the best hosts.
Spent a VERY comfortable 3 days in this beautiful flat. It is very stylishly decorated, with an exceedingly comfortable bed. It was beautifully warm and cosy, felt just like being at home. An ideal location within easy walking distance of everything, great cafes etc within a minute or two, which we personally tried (all mentioned in the welcome pack in the flat). Feels very much like Victoria Park Village, if you are familiar with London! It was a fantastic base from which to enjoy your Edinburgh experience in style. As hosts ourselves we can honestly say we were impressed.
