What makes this apartment unique

It will be a totally unique experience staying in this splendid historical Grade 11 listed property beside the sea with all the benefits of secure parking and 24 hour helpful security guards.. The vaulted ceilings and floor to ceiling windows (overlooking the lanscaped grounds) make the apartment light and air. A real pleasure to come back to after a day out.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had a lovely holiday exploring Margate and the surrounding areas. The apartment was excellent- clean, tidy, spacious and well decorated (love the seaside stuff!). The location of the apartment is great, just a short walk from the beach and lots of shops. The underground parking is also a bonus. We also found everything we needed in the apartment- tea, coffee, plastic bags, cooking things etc. which is handy and saved the hassle and money of having to buy the extra things!

The weather has been extremely kind to us this week - glorious sunshine throughout. We recommend taking a look around Margate Old Town with its museum full of local history and also the Shell Grotto. Trips to Ramsgate , Broadstairs and Dover were also enjoyable. The folder of leaflets was very handy in finding places to go . Thank you.

Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

The flat is a good size, brilliantly located and well stocked. All the comforts of home, absolutely nothing to feel even mildly disappointed about. Chris who did our meet and greet was a total diamond. Would absolutely 100% use this property again. Thanks to Elaine and Mick for providing a top notch Margate base.

An excellent base to explore Kent

  • 4 of 5

The apartment is excellent. Very clean and a good place from which to explore the surrounding area. Margate is a sorry reflection of better times. Everywhere looks run down and uncared for. The beach was kept clean though. We spent most of our time in Broadstairs, Cantebury and Sandwich. We had a lovely time.

Great accommodation!

  • 4 of 5

The apartment is spacious, clean, quiet and well equipped, about the only thing that would have helped us would be a tumble drier as we had been traveling for a few weeks when we got to Margate, it would have speeded up our washing, not a major drama, there were ample drying racks and our washing dried during the day. We were in the area to visit friends and family so didn't make a lot of use of the nearby beach or other attractions, but they were very convenient for the holidaymaker, a short walk to the sands and amusements.

Very attractive complex and unit, excellent location

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay very much, a great location and interesting to be in an historical complex, restored and maintained well. Chris Murray was very helpful in ensuring we had access to the complex and unit. Since there was only one electronic fob and it only worked on the front gate and Victoria Court building, we did not enjoy the sort of access we were used to in rental units (each having separate access), and Rowena had some trouble with the rather stiff door key. However we adjusted and had a very nice stay. The interior of the unit was well designed and attractive for rental accommodation. Since Margate has a relative scarcity of food shops, having the Tesco express nearby was helpful and once we learned how to use the local buses (the family day rider ticket was convenient and a great deal too) we found lots of good shopping and sightseeing in nearby towns too. A great addition to your complex, if there are several rental units is to have a small selection of bicycles (small to large frames) available for weekly rental, since the Viking trail is such a great place to bike (or walk). Overall a great vacation for us....

Owner's Response: Thank you Rick for the lovely review and delighted you enjoyed the apartment and Margate and appreciated all the amenities. And thank you for the information about the bus tickets and bikes. I am mortified you had issues with the keys / fobs. The front door just requires a quarter anti-clockwise turn to open. I will emphasise this in the welcome note. Re the fobs we give all holiday makers 2 sets of keys one with a car fob which opens all gates and all main exterior doors and the other set of keys with the small thin pedestrian fob which opens pedestrian gate and outside doors (it is possible you did not realise it was a fob). My apologies, again I need to remedy that by expanding on this in the welcome to avoid any confusion. Elaine

Lovely Apartment - Great Location

  • 5 of 5

Thanks Elaine for a wonderful stay. What a wonderful apartment you have here! We have really enjoyed our 4 nights visit, this is such a lovely complex in an ideal location - we haven't moved the car once! It is clear you have put so much effort into making this apartment an easy place to stay, we loved the information pack and the leaflets really helped us plan our days! The kitchen is very stylish and had everything we could need and more, we made our own breakfast before our days of exploring and it was so easy to find everything. The apartment is so bright with the lovely high arched ceilings, we really enjoyed coming home, one evening we even stayed in with a bottle of wine and some take away food! The sofa bed is such a great addition to the apartment, next time we will bring some friends!

We are a young couple who have never had a seaside break in the UK so we weren't sure what to expect. We ended up finding so much to do! The old town has lots of retro/vintage shops with quaint cafes and bars. All around the town there are little micro bars/pubs which serve nice local beers and ales. We hired bikes and got the train to Ramsgate where we had a look around before cycling back along the coast stopping off at Broadstairs along the way. We also spent afternoons at Dreamland and the adventure golf which is a two-minute walk from the apartment. We found some lovely places to eat including Yamma's Thai cafe, GB Pizza Co and the food market at Old Kent market. There is so much to see and do we wished we had booked a longer stay. We can’t wait to book our next stay, and recommend to all of our friends and family at home!

Thanks again Elaine

Clean, spacious and perfectly located

  • 4 of 5

We travelled to Margate over the bank holiday weekend and this was just the perfect place for us.

Located just 5 minutes away from the beach and shops & restaurants we couldn't have asked for more. Chris was very helpful and gave us detailed information about things around. There was also a note left for us mentioning local events.

Great place and would love to go again. :)
