Trumpet House is a nice home with many unique architectural features
The Trumpet House is a castle-like house. We enjoyed exploring all the interesting features and unique decorations in the house. The forest setting of the house is quiet and beautiful, and the view from the house toward Leuven is very nice. We loved the hot tub on the cool evenings, as well as the sauna. Overall the house was very clean and well maintained with plenty of supplies; the only things that wasn't perfectly clean were the kitchen taps. We were very happy with our stay, and would return to the Trumpet House if we're ever in the area again.
Thanks a lot for your stay, I am very glad you liked it! :-)
Wow is the best description! An amazing property from the inside out with hillside views of Leuven. It is a great location to explore Belgium as a central hub.
Every detail has been thought of with what you might need in mind. The property itself is quirky with ornate carvings and small details painstakingly incorporated. The space lets you feel old world charm in a lovingly restored space with modern amenities.
Take advantage of the traditional breakfast as it will be enough to feed a small army. Our guests enjoyed the hot tub and sauna very much as well as the sweeping view of Leuven from the front porch. There is even a heat lamp to enjoy the outside in the crisp evenings. The caretaker was super responsive and met all of our needs and requests without issue.
You will not be disappointed!
Very lovely - highly recommend!
This lovely eclectic house is just outside Leuven. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was more than spacious for our family of four.
Paul was a great host!
Thanks Roberta, it was a pleasure to have you and your family as my guests!
A lovely home in the countryside
My husband and I stayed here with our two children ages 9 and 12. We stayed here at the end of a vacation week. All of our other accommodations were in city centers, and all of us cherished the dark, peaceful, quiet nights to sleep in the woods at Trumpet House. We were visited by an adorable tiny deer on the lawn during our stay. We enjoyed all the amenities of the house, including the hot tub, a nice selection of music CDs, and a great spot upstairs for watching World Cup games on TV. Paul is a wonderful host. If you choose to add breakfast or other options, it's like having your very own bed and breakfast.
Many thanks for this beautiful review Julie!
You and your family were perfect guests and kept the house real clean.
I am glad you all enjoyed your stay at Trumpet House.
Best regards, Paul

Within a walking distance of about one kilometer through a hollow road and along the woods you reach a plateau at the top of the Kesselberg with a wide view. At the forefront, traffic crosses the carriageway's viaduct, recognizes the city of Leuven and, at the clear glance, the Atomium of Brussels is even visible.
> ABDIJ VAN VLIERBEEK at 1km
The abbey was founded by the Benedictines in 1125. The abbey complex with a neoclassical church for 7 centuries formed the material framework for the daily existence of the monks, who, in the grip of silence, had heard God's call.
Although the monks forced their abbey to abandon, both residents, who made the old buildings rehabitable, prove to be the tourists that Vlierbeek is no ruin without life.
The many hikers and tourists can enjoy the hospitality of the inn on the inn's terrace as it was through the ages to the abbey's duties.

> LEUVEN at 5km
The students provide a young, sparkling atmosphere and a pleasant crowd in the ancient Leuven. Thanks to the university, Leuven is an innovative knowledge-based city, particularly well-placed on an archipelago of the European capital of Brussels and the national airport, at the intersection of two European highways.
But Leuven is also a Burgundy plaster for the hosted tourist. A city where culture and creativity prevail. A shopping mall for the demanding shopper. A beautiful inner city with the most beautiful monuments and rich history, but also with modern city renewal projects. With authentic cafes and the best restaurants. In short, a city to enjoy which you would like to return to as a tourist.
Leuven is undoubtedly the world's capital of beer. Early in the last century, the city had more than thirty breweries. Most have disappeared, only Stella Artois brewery and Domus brewery keep the brewing tradition alive.

> BED OF NAPOLEON at 3km
On top of a green hill of Linden is an old forest guard house. Surrender wants nobody to spend less than Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte once in the night. On the way back from an inspection round in May 1810, Napoleon lost his mind. Smothered and hungry, the company knocked at the remote farm of Jef Tiet. The imperial appetite turned out to be beyond the plate because also the farmer Eliane fell in taste. How that story goes further, you read in the scents and colors on the map of the current bistro.

> CASTLE OF HORST at 8km
The castle of Horst is located in the green valley of the Wingebeek, east of Leuven. Unlike most castles in Flanders that were often renovated or rebuilt in the course of the 18th or 19th century, this castle has remained in its original state since 1658. This is exactly what a visit to the castle makes so worth it: it's authentic!

Brussels, the capital of 500 million Europeans, is part of the so-called 'Power Cities' (a select group of important decision-making and reflection centers), but at the same time cultivates its image of metropolis on humanity and its international reputation for hospitality. The city is open to the many visitors who come here for business, cultural events, relaxation, holidays ... The aim is also: a stay in Brussels leaves a permanent reminder.
