2 bedrooms, 1.5 baths, old porch nestled under 200 year old trees
About Hunter Jones
Photographer, videographer, multimedia producer and intelligent lighting consultant (the robot laser lights that spin around and make funky colors and designs). I have lived all over the US and overseas and have always had a fondness for the Houston metro area since I first moved here in 1981.
Why Hunter Jones chose Washington Ave./ Memorial Park
It's a rare gem in a historic neighborhood in the shadow of downtown Houston. While the inside reflects the history of the house with it's exposed shiplap and antique furniture, it's dwarfed by the 100-200 year old trees that surround it. Despite it's setting on a quiet residential street it is just blocks away from dozens of fine restaurants and bars and less than 3 miles from downtown.

Great place to stay for things in downtown Houston
Beautiful historic house
We enjoyed our stay. The welcome was warm, the house is beautiful and comfortable, not far from the city centre and oh so quite at night. We recommend!
Great location, elaborately furnished, homey.
We stayed in this lovely house on a three day stopover in Houston. Our agenda included visiting Houston’s art museums. We used Uber for all transport and never had to wait more than a few minutes for a car to arrive. We really enjoyed the house, which was well furnished for every comfort, very clean, and well organized. Plus, the owners have a rich assortment of old books, furnishings, and artwork, giving the feel of visiting a beloved old aunt. It proved to be a great place to rest up after long hours in museums. Hunter, the owner, met us at the house when we arrived, and provided all the information we needed. Thanks, Hunter, for a great stay!

Location, charm and near Montrose area can’t be beat
2nd stay here at this cool vintage cottage. Walking distance to Washington Ave a big bonus. We walked even closer to Woodrow’s, which is a great neighborhood bar and grill for all ages of adults. Kitchen is fully equipped, if you should want to make a meal. Honestly so many great restaurants nearby makes it hard to eat in.
