About the property

The property was previously a railway cottage and has been completely refurbished. It has electric radiators and a multi fuel fire and is fully double-glazed

There is a large garden with a patio, table and chairs and bbq.. The property has English or French TV, DVD player, washing machine, tumble dryer , dishwasher , fridge and freezer. There is also a high chair and travel cot

Internet is connected.

The Forest of St Sever is approximately 10 minutes drive . Mont St Michel, Bayeux,Granville, and the Beaches are all within an hour's drive of the property.

The town of Vire with various shops,restaurants,bowling alley and acquatic flumes is 4 km from property.

Dogs are welcome at no extra cost.

There is a public footpath and cycle path adjacent to the property and for the adventurous they can cycle or walk 78km to Mont St Michel.

About Linda Evans

We (John and Linda) purchased the property in 2015. We have been coming out to France since 2002 and live just outside Estry which is approximately 20 minutes drive from the Property and are available on call if there is a problem.

We retired to France in September 2016. We previously lived in Darenth which is between Dartford and Longfield, Kent.

We love living in France and are hoping that the Property

at Le Roussel will provide many people with a lovely holiday home.

Why Linda Evans chose Vire

When we viewed Le Roussel it was a wreck. The only thing going for it was the fact that it was a solid building and we believed it was the ideal spot for a holiday home. It is the only house in the road and is not overlooked and there was plenty of parking both at the property and in the adjacent car park/picnic area. Now the property is refurbished it is perfect and the pictures do not do it justice.

What makes this house unique

It is the only house in the road. There is plenty of parking and there are no neighbours to disturb if you wish to make a lot of noise!!!! It is very close to Vire, but is in a secluded position. It is also ideal for cyclist and walkers as is adjacent to a cycle/footpath. The views are lovely. At night you can see the lights of Vire from the kitchen window , and the views from the living room and bedrooms over farmland are lovely.

The property used to be the first house on the Vire Rail Network and is numbered No. 1. Of course the railway does not run pass the house any longer, but the train does run from Vire to Granville along the bottom of the road, although no very often!
