It’s the Notre-Dame, the curves of the Seine and the rows of thronging restaurants that Ile de la Cité’s known for. But there’s a secret side – quiet squares and markets that only locals know. And Rue d’Arcole, where large shuttered windows, gleaming wood floors and aged beams are classic, and complement soft cream sofas and antique pieces. But the contemporary tables and chairs, and multitude of colourful rugs and throws, are captivating too. And the mesmerising Notre-Dame is under a minute away on foot.
Your hosts enjoy travelling the world to visit their children, and always bring back objects to embellish Rue d’Arcole. But they love home too – shopping at the local markets, and listening to the bells of the Notre-Dame, which are audible from home.
One of a kind:
Rue d'Arcole’s crammed with exotic details, and it’s worth taking time to discover them all. Curl up in the eclectic sitting room, where you’ll glimpse everything from a peacock ornament to a bamboo lampshade, or venture up to the understated master suite to admire its black and white artworks and books. Yet this home’s rare objects aren’t purely for adornment. The colourful kitchen’s well stocked with traditional teapots and dainty painted bowls, and there’s a dining table nearby for testing the wares.
- Please be aware that you can't completely block the light in the third sitting room, as the curtains are not blackout curtains.
- This home doesn't have air-conditioning, so ask us if you'd like to have fans for your stay.
- Please be aware that the queen bed in the master bedroom is actually two single mattresses joined together.
- The home is located above a slightly busy road, and noise from the street below can be heard from within the apartment.
