Sleeps 4 in 2 bedrooms + 2 bathrooms & large sunroof
I am English born but I live in Rotterdam for many years and found this wonderful apartment this year in an area that I have fallen in love with. Read below.
Owner purchased this Apartment in 2017
Why Owner chose Elche
As you can see from the photograph the views are fabulous and we're surrounded by fields, farms and agriculture. The local business's are almost all Spanish owned and it's so refreshing to be served by locals instead of overseas folks! We love it. Around 1920 the pine forest was installed, full of low line pines and about 7 miles long and half a mile deep right at the back of the sand dunes. This was grown to stop the beach further encroaching on the land and as of today no buildings have been built, except the row of ancient fisherman's dwellings which line part of the beach, some of which have become restaurants and bars (totally Spanish owned) Truly Spain 70 years ago.
What makes this Apartment unique
Spain 70 years ago with miles of Blue flag beach and sand dunes. A 20 minute stroll to the beach through either fields or by 2 choices of a quiet back road, passing absolutely no high rise and little other buildings for a kilometre through the low pine forest to the dunes and the beach. It has a wonderful charm that you don't see in too many other places. For 500 yards at the back of the beach there are the original fisherman's tiny shelters, 3 of which are converted to bar/restaurants, the rest are converted to narrow private units/beach huts at the back of the beach. The sand beach stretches for miles with the occasional beach bar and you can walk the beach and then cut through fields to the village road and back along to the apartment. La Marina village is so convenient having several bar/restaurants and all the shops that you need without going elsewhere. If you are mad keen shoppers then a trip to Guardamar or Torrevieja or Elche is easy by bus from across the road and no more than 20 minutes, or to big Alicante with it's old town, marina and magnificent shopping, just 40 minutes away by bus from outside the apartment. 3 doors up from the apartment is the tourist office for all the info you need

This is a beautiful, clean and modern apartment in a lovely friendly area with everything you need nearby including a gorgeous beach...We will definitely be back next year.

Great location, apartment and facilities
We know the area well and usually stay in the urbanisacion close by but weren’t able to do so this time. We found this apartment via Google and HomeAway.com and it couldn’t have suited our needs better. There was plenty of on-road parking close by and we always managed to park within view of the lounge window.
The apartment itself was clean and tastefully decorated with plenty of space for holiday storage. The bed was comfortable and probably quite new (no sagging mattress here!). Both bathrooms had showers with great water pressure.
The kitchen area was important to me as I relax by cooking on holiday (surely I’m not the only person to be pulled over at security for carrying herb and spice mixes in my hand luggage? No? Just me then) - it didn’t disappoint. Although small it was well equipped with electric oven, gas hob, microwave, kettle, good-sized fridge/freezer and pans & dishes for every use. Knives were in good condition and sharp. There were even plastic tubs for left overs.
The TV had many UK free-view channels which was great considering it was the first week of the World Cup 2018 when we visited. Most of the bars on the same road similarly showed the matches.
The aircon worked well and we used it quite a lot (about 5 hours a day in the afternoon/evening) but even with that and using the electric oven we never exceeded 2€ a day in the electricity meter.
Considering the apartment overlooks the main road of La Marina and its bars there was very little noise, even with the windows open.
The only down-side for us was the balcony wasn’t large enough to sit out on however with the fantastic beach a gentle stroll away and restaurants close by too it was a minor thing. It was large enough to take the airer to dry clothes on though which reminds me - there’s a washing machine!
Finally, the local Keyholders were very helpful and friendly.
I’d definitely recommend this apartment for 2 to 4 people.
Nice property. Excellent location in town. Handy for shops. On street parking but always available
Comfortable beds. Two singles are full sized which is a plus. Equipped with everything you need. Apartment is light and airy with air con if required. Wi fi is an excellent addition and unexpected.
A car is not necessary but a bonus if you have one.
Buses go both ways along the coast from only 50m from the apartment, and the wonderful beach is an easy 20 minute walk along 3 different routes.
1. Find your way through fields that begin 70m directly in front of the apartment and wander along paths into or around the pine forest for 400m to emerge at the back of the dunes.
2. Walk along the village in direction of Alicante then beyond the shops/bars for 200m and turn right down a quiet road to the beach.
3. Walk out of the village south for 200m and turn left towards the sea for 500m down a quiet road through the pine forest.
Then stroll the beach either way for a mile or so and cut back through the trees to the village road.
