Amazing ocean view, large comfortable space
A perfect location to relax and enjoy the coast, walk along the water, tide pooling, day trips through the local areas. The beds were comfortable, plenty of space, clean. This home is a place you can get comfortable and not want to leave... we loved it and were a little saddened to move along our adventure to an awaiting hotel!
Wonderful cottage on a spectacular location.
Great location - loved the cliff walk from the cottage to Ballycotton.
A GREAT vacation, a BEAUTIFUL setting and a destination to return to.
Our stay was wonderful. The home owners have pretty much thought of everything for a great vacation. The setting is spectacular and having the Cliff Walk right outside your front door is such a bonus. Would definitely recommend this home to others. Love the little town of Ballycotton. Thank you
What a view!!
My husband and I had an amazing time in this cottage perched above the sea. We were looking for peace and quiet, far from the tourist crowds - and we definitely found it! Nearly every night we fell asleep to the sound of the waves in the cove below the house. Nearly every morning, we woke to the sight of blue sky or wispy clouds through the sky lights, and the sunlight on the sea through the windows.
The one exception was the night it stormed, but we were snug and warm, enjoying the sound of the rain and wind.
We loved walking on the cliff path, just steps from the house; one day, we walked into Ballycotton, had lunch Pier 21, and walked back - a perfect day! Other days we did daytrips into Cork and Kinsale, venturing as far as the Drombeg stone circle (highly recommended!). The cottage made a great home base.
Hope we can visit again someday!
Truly a home away from home
We were a party of six with a toddler and we found the house to be exceptional. Very spacious, tastefully decorated with amazing views. The kitchen is really well equipped and the dining room very bright and looks out on to the sea. The location is also fantastic, next to a small pebble beach and only a short drive to lovely sandy beaches. The cliff walk starts literally at the doorstep and is such a gem. Ballycotton is also a quaint, charming village with nice places to eat and drink. We absolutely loved our stay.
Secluded privacy with a wild ocean view
Ian and Jo's house is very spacious, gorgeous, and welcoming. It is filled with light and stunning views of the ocean, the cliffs, the slipway beach and rocks. Large irish fields, rock walls, and cottages dot the nearby hillside. It was as delightful to sit inside and watch the water, as it was to explore outside and there was ample space to do either.
The house had plenty of comfortable furniture and places to sit to enjoy each other and the view. There were 3 bedrooms for two people and 1 bedroom with two single beds (and a crib and other baby/toddler items). The kitchen was very well stocked for cooking and open for conversation. The house had plenty of windows (with shades) to enjoy the views but is tight and cosy, not drafty. The entire house has a relaxed and cohesive decor that contributes to the sense of space, beauty, and peace, not clutter. There is also a large deck for outside enjoyment.
Located near Ballycotton and Cloyne, this property is less than an hour from the outskirts of east Cork and all the delights of the surrounding area (although you may not spend much time exploring once you visit the house, which makes you want to just sit back and relax or hurry back once you do leave it).
We arrived at night, which made the house a little harder to find but we were able to let ourselves in using the easy check-in process. Truly a fantastic edge of the ocean, rural ireland but modern house.
