My son and I used Villa Milanino as a base to access the F1 Monza GP (a 20 minute drive away) but I have to say the property was stunning, all it was described as and more. It was one of the best appointed properties I have rented for holiday accommodation and would highly recommend it. It was in close proximity to public transport too, although I had my own car and parking on the street was plentiful. The owner was most helpful and informative and responded promptly to any contact I made, the handover was in depth, all making our stay very relaxing, he also spoke very good English and I would highly recommend this property to friends and family. Would definitely return again if I plan any future trips to Milan and the surrounding area. We didn't venture out for a meal locally as I enjoy cooking and the kitchen was very clean and quite new with plenty of crockery and cutlery but we had a day in Milan and the train station is 15 minutes walk from the property.
We had never visited Italy before and knew there was much to see and do. Lucio was a very gracious host and was always ready to help with any questions/concerns that we had before and after our arrival. He met us at the property and gave us the grand tour! It is a well appointed apartment which had pretty much every amenity you could think of. The apartment was clean and on the whole well maintained. The only issue we had was with the internet and it is apparently a router issue and since we have returned home we have no recurring problems. Lucio said he was going to have the issue checked.
Parking is on the street and a few times we had to park a little further away but it wasn't far. On our return to the airport we had to have a taxi, too much luggage for the rental car! Lucio helped with booking the taxi and the company he used was very helpful, even making sure we followed the taxi back to the airport in the rush hour!
The apartment is well located for visits to many places, Milan being the closest and accessible by train. We also visited Turin, Venice, Lake Como, Lake Garda, Varenna and the train to Switzerland through the Alps to name but a few. Lucio is a good source of information on local restaurants and suggested 2 both within walking distance. He booked the tables for us, different types of cuisine but still excellent choices.
We would recommend the apartment to anyone wanting to get a taste of Italy. The property does have several flights of stairs so to those less able it might be an issue.
Thank you Lucio for all your help and hospitality. We have been inspired to visit more of your beautiful homeland!
The location was excellent and the owner, Lucio, was extremely helpful. We booked this place for the Italian Grand Prix weekend. From the time we booked until we left, Lucio was very helpful. He picked us up at the train station ( only 1.5 km from the villa). Gave us a quick driving tour of the area, and a detailed tour of the villa and amenities. The pictures are very accurate. It is in a small, quiet village north of Milan that has shopping and restaurants within easy walking distance...a perfect way to relax after a long day at Monza! Milan and Monza are easily accessible by bus or train and Lake Como is an easy train ride. We thoroughly enjoyed it and it will be the first place I check for availability when coming to the Milan area.
From the beginning of our booking, through the last morning, Lucio, the owner, was responsive and delightful. The apartment is well equipped and comfortable. We prepared several meals using the utensils in the modern kitchen. Lucio took us to a nearby market for our food and wine provisions. He made reservations at a local restaurant- upon our arrival he and his family where also there! He made introductions with the owners, translated for us which resulted in items that were not on the menu. All in all, it was a fabulous experience in Milan
