The appropriately named Hen House is an upstairs self contained apartment in the annexe shown in the photo. We arrived one February afternoon and were so grateful for the warmth of the apartment with extra heaters providing a very warm welcome.
It's a quirky little apartment with a mixture of old and modern furnishings which we liked very much. The property is ideally set for commuting to Birmingham. We travelled 10 minutes by car to Redditch railway station and enjoyed a 40 minute pleasant train ride to New St Station. £6 return per adult.
After the big city, it was lovely to return to Hen House, in its peaceful surroundings. There was a pub almost next door which we didn't use, but may be useful for other travelers.
Four stars instead of five, and we're undecided wether to stay again. Latoyah said to ask if there was anything we needed, she was keen to please. However there was nothing she could do about the beams. My husband, 6 foot tall hit his head countless times. I'm shorter at 5' 6" and managed to avoid them by walking almost everywhere hunched. This is the only reason we would not say that we loved it. For anything else we felt lacking, we could have asked Latoyah.
We're sure that if you choose this property, you will enjoy your stay and it is excellent value for money.
