Guy purchased this House in 2000
Why Guy chose King's Lynn
We found the property in a dilapidated state together with its barns on the historic buildings at risk register. Someone had to save it! It took 10 years over all to restore the house and barns sympathetically to their former glory. We have wonderful long term tenants in the converted barns and take great pleasure in welcoming guests such as yourselves in the Hall.
What makes this House unique
Its wonderful sense of calm. It's the only place in the world I actually relax, do nothing and don't feel guilty.

Weekend away with friends
I rented this property for an annual trip I make with a group of 4 couples. Great house, very comfortable and cosy, even during Storm Dennis! Plenty of space for everyone, even sized rooms. Easy communication with the owner and easy check in. Would recommend!
Half term getaway
A great property for 2 families coming together to spend half term together. Lovely garden and plenty of room to spread out inside too!
Perfect for our family get together
We meet up once a year: grandparents, kids, grandchildren and this year we chose Tilney Hall for our long weekend. It was perfect. Big enough for us - 6 adults, 4 kids and a baby - big rooms, comfy beds, lovely fires in the evening. It was great to have 2 living rooms...one for grown ups, one for the kids, and a dining table big enough for us all to have dinner together. The kids spent lots of time in the garden which they loved, and adults spent lots of time chilling, cooking and chatting. Glad we found the house...we all loved it.
It was a real pleasure having you all to stay. Thank you for booking with us. We hope to be able to welcome you back at some point in the future. Best wishes to you all.
Gorgeous, atmospheric, homely and comfortable
Guy graciously gave us permission to spend a week filming Dark Nights with Poe and Munro at Tilney Hall and we couldn't have asked for a better location. We felt at home as soon as we stepped through the door. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and exquisitely decorated with period pieces which make you feel like you've stepped back in time. The atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing, even though it's conveniently only a stone's throw from main road links (and only 12 minutes from the nearest train station). The house also has lots of features we didn't have time to enjoy, such as a wide range of books, the log fires, and the garden with its seating areas and clear views of the starry skies. Guy was the perfect host - friendly, and welcoming yet leaving us to our own devices during our stay. We hope to return for a more relaxing stay (no filming!) sometime in the future and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Tilney Hall to anyone looking for a secluded, home-away-from-home with a difference.
We are delighted that The Hall was everything you expected it to be and we are so happy that the filming was such a success. Can't wait to see the results. Housekeeping also wanted to thank you for leaving everything so clean and tidy after your stay. Please come and stay with us again!

Absolutely faultless, definately returning to this wonderful house
Classic Home from Home
It was my first experience using HomeAway and it turned out to be all we could have wanted. The Hall was excellent in all respects for our family group. It as large enough to absorb us all comfortably, even with 5 under 7s filling up the place. There was even a room for Nonno and Nonna to “hide in” when quiet time was needed. The house was very inviting. Everything we looked for was there. The kitchen was well stocked with pans, pots, gadgets, plates, glasses etc.. I cooked three nights without problem. The little ones had a wonderful toy box to explore and it was brilliant to just open up the back door and let them chase around the huge grassy area around The Hall. The swings and climbing frame were a big hit. There were plenty of sleeping options for Mums and Dads and little ones and rooms were swapped around. The owner, Guy, deserves a very big thank you. I had a couple of conversations in the weeks before coming and he could not have been more helpful, reassuring and encouraging. The information he provided before leaving was spot on. He described things perfectly. Everything fell into place. Despite the chaos of five little grandchildren we had a relaxing time. It was good chasing them round and round but even better sitting with a glass of wine watching them from one of the benches in the garden. We are leaving this morning having had a lovely time with the family, taking away plenty of memories. Tilney Hall helped create a great base for all this to happen. We are all heading off in different directions all having shared a special five days.
