The self-catering accommodation comprises of a spacious lounge, family bedroom, twin bedroom, bathroom, office area providing detailed tourist information, plus a well-equipped kitchen, which is modern and yet the log fire gives it a traditional feel. The 2 acre grounds also include a D.O.C. vineyard, olive grove and fruit orchards, from where you can admire spectacular views of both the Gran Sasso & Maiella mountain ranges. There is the possibility of fresh organic fruit and vegetables from the garden, and grape and olive picking. There is unlimited wi-fi internet access.

Whatever the season or weather, there is always something to do and see in this area, making it an ALL YEAR ROUND holiday destination. Casa Bianca, in the province of Teramo, sits between the 2 medieval villages of Castilenti and Elice. Local shops, bars, restaurants, a swimming pool and health farm are all within walking distance.

This is a wine region, famous for Montepulciano and Trebbiano wines. After a 5 minute drive, you will reach an award-winning cantina, where you can sample and buy wine made from our vines, as well as the vineyards covering the local hills. In the many local restaurants, you can enjoy freshly prepared, local produce, at fantastic value for money.

Only 20-30 minutes drive away, larger towns are situated, such as Atri, Penne and Loreto Aprutino. All the towns and villages host festivals, where you have the opportunity to sample local wine and food specialities, listen to a diverse variety of music and enjoy spectacular firework displays. The area’s artistic and architectural heritage offers a wide section of precious works of art, castles and churches, spread right across the region.

Atri and Penne are surrounded by nature reserves, including a WWF eduacational centre. The area within and around Penne Lake is home to about 160 species of birds and many types of fish. Within an hour of Casa Bianca, the first of Abruzzo's National Parks can be reached, where Marsicano brown bears, Apennine wolves and chamois all reside. Ski-ing, cross-country ski-ing, canoeing, cycling and hiking can all be enjoyed here.

In the other direction, the long sandy beaches of Pineto and Pescara can be found, 30km from Casa Bianca. Pescara boasts many fine restaurants and shops, as well as the largest tourist harbour on the Adriatic. Daily boat trips depart from here. Windsurfing, fishing, diving and sailing are easily available. Pescara provides good nightlife, including many music festivals. The warm and friendly atmosphere makes it appealing to people of all ages. Pineto is known for the shady pinewoods which separate the beach from the town. It is a modern and fascinating beach area, ideal for those who love the calm of another era.................................................................

TRAVEL TO CASA BIANCA: Casa Bianca holiday accommodation is secluded, yet easily accessible. The driveway leads straight onto a normal road, so you won't have to tackle gravel tracks or long, winding roads into the middle of nowhere.

One of the features of Italian life is a surprising amount of bureaucracy, with payments of state, local, and refuse taxes required at the local post office, often accompanied by lengthy and impenetrable forms. Even simple procedures, like arranging for your telephone line to be connected, can take days or even weeks, and these can be difficult to arrange from abroad.

Typical services that we provide include:

Administrative services,

Regular cleaning and maintenance,

Repairs and renovations.

Ideal holiday apartment in Italian countryside

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for a quiet apartment in beautiful Italian countryside with a garden, nice views, good possibility for walks, and some historic towns and if possible the sea within easy reach by car. And not overrun by other tourists.... Well, this is it.

The apartment is cool and spacious, clean, and well equipped. It is on the ground floor with easy access to garden and court yard/patio. Plenty of chairs and room to relax. As you are the only guests privacy and tranquillity are ensured. The owners live upstairs and are very nice and helpful.

The house is on a small country road, one of many that we loved to follow during our walks. It is surrounded by vineyards, olive groves, fruit trees and corn fields.

A few small historic towns are with a 20-30 minutes drive where you also will find good supermarkets. We particularly liked Atri, a typically Italian town, with its basilica with beautiful frescoes, a nice park, and only a 15 minutes further drive to the sea (Pineto). Few tourists.

And a practical point: Pescara airport with its cheap connections is nearby.

Abruzzo is the Italy you hope to find.

  • 5 of 5

We spent 5 weeks travelling around Italy and Abruzzo was one of the prettiest unspoilt areas we found - it is not over-commercialised and there is so much to see! Everyone was friendly, prepared to put up with our terrible attempts at Italian and we found lots of lovely food and wine, Casa Bianca was very clean and spacious and had everything you could possibly need - it was easily the best equipped apartment we stayed in. Tracey and Pete had all the local knowledge we needed and were not at all intrusive - even though we shared the building, we had all the privacy we needed. We spent days exploring all the nearby (and not so nearby) towns and took a wonderful drive up into the snow topped mountains that we will never forget. We couldn't stop taking photos for the whole week. Abruzzo rocks!

very special property

  • 5 of 5

"We had an excellent stay. The house was very well equiped and very clean. We did not miss anything.

Tracey and Pete were very helpfull with everything and very friendly. We had a nice welcome-gift and everything was just perfect. We loved the fresh fruits and vegetables from the garden. The first time I picked a watermelon in my life!

The children just loved the place, especially Gilbert and the dog Stella.

Abruzzo was very beautifull. The people were extraordinary friendly and very helpful.

When we left, I received a plant from Tracey. The Aloe Vera is growing perfectly in Germany and every time I see the plant I remember a perfect and just lovely holiday.

Thanks a lot Tracey and Pete.

A lot of greetings from cold Germany

Glorious Abruzzo

  • 5 of 5

With our 2 very young children, we have stayed at Casa Bianca on 2 occasions while securing the purchase of our wonderful holiday home. The accommodation in Casa Bianca is of a very high standard, and the location is ideally situated to explore the mountains, towns and coast of this beautiful area.

Tracey, who has links with a reliable Abruzzo estate agent through whom we purchased our property, was so incredibly helpful in guiding us through the bureacracy of Italian property purchase: in her safe hands, we didn't encounter any problems, and it all seemed straightforward. And now she is providing an excellent property management service: totally flexible, reliable, and not expensive: it just takes away all those little worries that you inevitably have when you're not actually there. It is so useful when someone knows a trustworthy builder, plumber or carpenter. We consider ourselves so fortunate.

We find few people in the UK have even heard of Abruzzo, let alone know where it is in Italy! It is simply glorious, it is "real" Italy, still (thank goodness) undeveloped, un-touristy and cheap. If you have children, like us, they are loved and spoiled. Go to Abruzzo, and see for yourselves! Tracey and Pete will give you the warmest welcome.

What a wonderful way to spend the winter

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from 5 weeks in Casa Bianca, having decided to see what the winter months were like in Abruzzo. We could not have found a nicer place to stay. The apartment is comfortable and well equipped, Tracey and Pete were so helpful and went our of their way to make us feel at home, especially Kai, our Cocker Spaniel, who stayed upstairs with Tracey while we went to Italian lessons twice a week. He also got on like a house on fire with Stella!

We had wonderful walks up into the mountains (Stella as guide), ate at excellent and reasonably priced local restaurants, looked at countless properties, and generally explored the area.We will definitely be back, and we certainly recommend Casa Bianca to anyone wishing for the 'unspoiled Italy' experience.
