The water level will be 10 to 25 feet down from full pool, which means absolutely nothing to a mountain lake that is 310 feet deep! You want the lake to be down at least 15 feet because it exposes hundreds of beautiful secluded beaches! We don't hang out at the dock, we explore new beaches every day! 50 yards out from my dock is 60 feet deep. The dock is always in at least 10 feet of water.
You'll love Lake Jocassee's crystal clear mountain water and secluded sandy beaches. Enjoy the Southeast's best kept secret! Stay in one of only seven homes that rents to the public on the 75 mile shoreline that has a total of 45 homes. Wilderness abounds as only 2 miles of shoreline is developed!!
This house has the feel of a Montana mountain retreat. Just steps away, your private dock with ladder and boat tie up is in a secluded cove where you can enjoy swimming and boating in the crystal clear water. The kids will love the 4 kayaks and one canoe. ! Do you want to water-ski in the middle of the day on the weekend? No problem, no boat traffic!! You can't do that at Lake Burton or Lake Lanier! Adventurous? Park your boat at the head of one of five major trout streams, and enjoy a cool afternoon of rock hopping and trout fishing. Feeling lazy?
Park your boat at one of nine waterfalls which feed directly into the lake and nap with the soothing hum of falling water where the temperature is 10 degrees cooler than the main body of water. Love to hike? Trailheads are on the lake and two miles from the house. After a fun filled day on the water, come back to your home where you can swing in the hammock and admire the sunset as you BBQ on your 50 foot x 16 foot deck overlooking the cove and dock. Free trailer storage in a locked fenced compound 3 miles from the boat ramp at Blue Ridge Boat Storage, 160 Jocassee Lake Road, Salem, SC

Nice lake house in a beautiful setting. We really enjoyed the hiking and kayaking/ canoeing .
Lake Jocassee is well worth the visit. We did the boat tour and saw waterfalls, loons, and even an eagle. Our knowledgeable guide pointed out wildflowers and other attractions. Our family enjoyed hiking, a visit to nearby White Water Falls, and a great day in Cashiers.
We had a great time! We loved kayaking and canoeing. The lake is unbelievably beautiful. We found a waterfall on the other side. The home was lovely - beautifully decorated, really met the needs of our family of 9 (young adult and teenaged kids). We had a fire on the beach, played cards and games each evening, and relaxed inside savoring the beautiful view. Thank you!!
Beautiful views! Fun family times.
Lovely lakehouse with a gorgeous view! Very nice accommodations with plenty of family friendly activities. Driveway was a bit scary, so I’d recommend ariving before dark.
Awesome house with Great Lake access.
House was clean and well stocked, and even better than the pictures showed. The views were great from the deck, and the kayaks and canoe were a fun plus. Would definitely recommend!
We rented the house for the solar eclipse and it was perfect. The house is lovely with great views of the lake. It is well provisioned and well decorated. The rooms are spacious and fit our group perfectly. I would add - the house is much nicer than some of the pictures indicate. the wood is beautiful and everything is in great condition.
The lake is awesome. The water is clear and it was great swimming off the "beach" and the dock. There were 4 kayaks and a huge canoe. The house is in a little cove but with a couple minutes paddle you are out in the lake which is quite large and very lovely. You can also get a boat delivered if you want to rent one or there is a public boat launch nearby.
It is remote which is exactly what we wanted but there is a little town about 40 minutes away- just close enough if you need to run to the store if you forgot something. I would recommend bringing all your food and supplies because you won't want to leave.
We can't wait to go back!
Awesome cabin for families and groups!
Wow, we had an amazing time. We had a bunch of toddlers and the cabin with the location was perfect. There was a little dirt beach area that gently sloped into the water- a rarity with mountain lakes! Our kids had a blast. The water was clear and the view beautiful. The rooms were spacious and the beds super comfy. We loved the windows and open space upstairs. Also, we were glad the TV was located downstairs and away from the kitchen and great room. This hid the distraction from the kids and we were able to spend more quality family time together. Also, our host Trey was seriously the nicest guy. Very accommodating and made sure our stay was perfect.
We would definitely rent this place again!
