About Dawn and George Darling, owners, and Traci and Laith Hensley, on-site managers
Both from New England, the owners George and Dawn Darling wanted a cool, summer mountain getaway for skiing, hunting, sledding and snowmobiling in the winter, and for hiking, biking, fishing, 4-wheeling and ATVing the rest of the year. The property was developed in the 80's and many improvements have been made including the adjacent 5-bedroom Ridge House built in 2009. The on-site managers, Traci and Laith Hensley, have been managing the property for about 3 years and the guests love them!
Why Dawn and George Darling, owners, and Traci and Laith Hensley, on-site managers chose Greer
Greer is a place where you can get away from it all - the traffic, fast-food restaurants, and a face-paced city life. it's great to just walk out your door or drive a few minutes to our favorite spots. Greer is a small mountain village where you can have the conveniences of home without the stress. It's quiet but not too remote. You can walk to the oldest lodge in Arizona for dinner and a drink at the bar, or across the street to fish for native trout in the Little Colorado River.
What makes this Cabin unique
Antler Ridge is located in the center of town within walking distance to just about anywhere in this unique Arizona village with a year-round population of only 125 and less than 700 lots developed with beautiful vacation homes. It's the closest town to Sunrise Ski Park, Arizona's largest ski area, without the heavy traffic from Pinetop. You're on the slopes in 20 minutes and snowmobiling or cross-country skiing on developed trails just 10 minutes away. Kayaking or canoeing on the 3 Greer Lakes is only 2 miles away and there are many beautiful hiking trails in the forest minutes from your door that extend throughout the National Forest. Greer is also located in Arizona's Area 1 with some of the best elk hunting in the country.

Nice clean place
The place was clean and the host was friendly. I would stay here again.
The kitchen could've been more stocked (bring things you really need). The beds are memory foam topped. The oven is really small.
Walking distance to restaurant which wasn't very good. The neighbors are a car away.
We stayed here during winter so skiing and sled hill was less than 30 min away.
Thank you so much for your feedback. Please let us know what the kitchen was missing - we have a lengthy inventory list and try to think of everything. We recently bought several good quality mattresses which some guests find are not soft enough. Since so many have the very popular memory foam beds at home, we bought toppers which can be removed if too soft. We know some cabins are closer together than others and would love to put you in a different cabin next time if you'd like. The beauty of not being in a secluded cabin is having on-site managers at your disposal when issues arise like a clogged toilet, a bed not to your liking or trouble with the satellite or internet. We hope to see you again and have the opportunity to make your stay even better.
My husband and I went to Greer for a "romantic" getaway..... and truly picked the wrong cabin. We did not need anything too large so we settled on this cabin, needless to say, it just wasn't what I had hoped it would be. It was clean, but not deep down clean, the beds were memory foam, which I would normally love but I warn you, you will fall into the center "a hole so to speak" and be pretty miserable all night! We ended up splitting up and using each bedroom and still slept horribly! No real view to look at, the TV satellite wasn't working, and after inquiring about the porch light not working or the lamp, we were told that cabin was having issues. The lights at the front of the cabin were not working correctly and the lamp in the living room randomly came on. This made us feel like we could possibly catch fire at any time as it was apparent the breaker wasn't off. We left after the 1st night when we had planned on staying 2 nights. No coffee filters either for the coffee pot but we just went and bought some ourselves as I dont function well without my morning coffee! Either way, we hoped for better and just didnt get what we were wanting. Very disappointed! On the plus side, the property managers were nice.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I am glad to hear that our managers were nice, that they came down to your cabin to address the issues you contacted them about, and that the cabin was clean. "Deep" cleaning can not be performed every time someone checks out, especially during busy months. It is inconvenient to have the satellite go out but snow sometimes interrupts service and we have no control over this. We have a large DVD collection to chose from in our office just a very short walk away. We also had one other cabin available to move you to if our managers had been aware of your sleeping discomfort. In regards to the lights, I was unaware of the situation until this morning and an electrician is on property right now addressing the issue today. My manager will be contacting you today to further discuss your review.
Nice place had everything we needed
Had to leave a day early wish we could of got reimbursed no luck but in all, perfect place to get away
We are glad you had a great getaway and sorry it was cut a little short. Unfortunately we are not always able to reimburse for last minute changes since we forego other rentals over the days you have reserved. We hope your travel plans bring you our way again!
cabin was clean ,good location, had all the necessary supplies for making the stay comfortable. Things are dated but more than adequate .
Thank you for staying with us. We are making some updates as we speak - new carpet, new windows, and new siding in a few months. We hope you come back and see all we've done.
The Cabin was in need of some TLC. There were holes in the living room carpet, windows were dirty and most screens didn't fit properly. The cupboards were very old and need to be replaced.
On the plus side, beds were clean & comfortable, the kitchen was clean except for cupboards, bathroom was nice and there was plenty of hot water.
We were comfortable enough but probably wouldn't stay there again.
Thank you for your feedback. Our managers are on-site, friendly, helpful and ready to assist our guests any time during your stay upon request. We are replacing the carpet this month along with some other improvements including new windows which are on order. The windows can get dirty in one storm unfortunately and it rains almost every afternoon. The cabinets are older but high quality and we have been refinishing them cabin by cabin. We are happy to hear it was clean and comfortable and hope you'll consider another stay in the future.
Great little cabin
