About the property

Turbine House is a superb Holiday Cottage nestled in a beautiful, quiet corner of the village of Reeth in the Yorkshire Dales.

There is plenty of private parking, and the cottage has its own fully enclosed and secure garden. There is plenty of outside space including table and chairs for enjoying the morning sun, and a BBQ area, fire pit and sofa seating for lazy evenings watching the stars.

The cottage has been lovingly restored and recently refurbished.

The proprietors have ensured that everything has been thought of, so that you can rest peacefully on your visit here.

Friday is usual change over day. Although we do accept short bookings.

Set in the beautiful countryside of Swaledale, surrounded by farmland and stunning views from every window. The house boasts its own unique history. The Turbine House once housed all the turbines that were used for producing electricity for the Dales. There are still some pulleys on show in the sitting room today.

It is so quiet and tranquil in this corner of the village, all you can hear are the birds, the sheep and the Arkle beck which runs nearby. Yet you are only a 2 minute walk from the village centre!

The village of Reeth is an ideal base for exploring the Dales. It is a bustling community, with pubs, restaurants, cafes, shops, a museum, a hairdressers an ice cream parlour, a beauty salon and a market every Friday. Visitors are never short of things to do, and that's before we mention the many, many walks starting right on the doorstep! The village centre is a 2 minute walk from these properties.

We are pet friendly! Your dogs are more than welcome in the cottages. They will love the Yorkshire Dales as much as you!

The entrance to Turbine House takes you straight into the light and airy kitchen. The kitchen is spacious, fully equipped, with everything thought of for your stay. There is plenty of work surface and storage space for your personal items. It has a dining table with seating for 4 people.

To the left of the kitchen is the sitting room. It is a cosy space to unwind in the comfortable seating in front of the newly fitted log burning stove. There is a complementary basket of logs on arrival.

The smart TV runs through the WiFi so all channels are available as and when you need them, including a Netflix subscription to keep you entertained on rainy days.

From the sitting room, the stairs lead to the two bedrooms. Immediately up the stairs there is the house bathroom which serves both bedrooms. It has a bath with a shower over. The Super King size bed in the bigger bedroom can be changed into twin beds on request. The double bedroom has beautiful views up to Fremington Edge.

All bedding and towels are provided.

.

“The Wash House” is around the corner, where you will find all things needed for you to keep up with your laundry, if you so wish while you are away!

There are 2 other cottages that can be let at the same time for a larger group. All cottages are next to each other. These are Greystones and Charlie's stable. Advertised on this website.

About Rose Atkinson

Although these cottages have been in our family for over 100 years, we have only just taken them over to run as holiday homes. My mum set off with them as holiday homes in 1991 and ran them very successfully until her death in 2012.

My husband David and I live in the village with our two girls and we are always on hand to answer any questions or advise on which pubs to eat in, or where to get the best views on a walk!

We are working hard to get the cottages and outside areas up to a very high standard and are both enjoying the challenge that all this has brought into our lives.

We hope you like the look of our properties enough to book with us, and we can welcome you into our little haven in the glorious Yorkshire Dales.

Lovely, comfortable cottage in a beautiful part of the world

  • 5 of 5

The cottage is set in a lovely part of Reeth, next to the Arkle river and just a minute or two's walk from the central green. The cottage itself is clean, tidy and beautifully decorated with soft colours and tasteful details. Everything you could need is provided for, and the bed is soooooo comfortable! Rose and family gave us a very warm welcome, and we really appreciated the little extras on our arrival.

We cannot recommend this place more highly. A real treat, and the ideal antidote to the hustle and bustle of modern life (oh and our dog, Holly, loved it too!).

We shall certainly return!

Everything about Turbine house was perfect. All rooms were so clean and modern. The beds were so comfy, the kitchen were so well equipped. It's just a short walk to the pubs in town, brilliant location next to the stream. The owner Rose came round first day, nothing was a problem, thank you Rose. See you next year
